NBCSports Gold moved to Peacock

Update on this - I can now no longer pause or rewind on my phone or tablet. The live stream must stay live apparently. Can you guys still pause the live feed?

I missed the first hour of today’s broadcast so now I either have to jump in and miss the beginning or wait until the replay is posted later today :frowning:

I tried to watch the highlights from stage 2 last night on appletv. I could not fast forward.

I still can on iOS

peacock ios app crashing out for anyone else during last 10k of stage 4?

Same experience on Android app on Sony TV.

For anyone who held on for Olympics

“ Highlights will also be shown across multiple NBC channels and NBC’s internet site Peacock (which has replaced NBC Sports Gold Cycling). Peacock’s schedule does not include any full-length coverage of any cycling events.”

Shit…really? So is there any legal way to watch those races in the US or do you have to use TiZ-cycling.io or other similar service?

Yea we thought we were going to be able to watch the opening ceremonies Live and even some of the upcoming cycling events, guess that’s out of the question. :frowning: I’m really really despising NBC and all these separate ways needed just to watch cycling or olympic events.

Find some live tv option that has nbc included. I use Hulu but thought peacock would have better coverage.

Pulled up 11 events by searching on “cycling” in Fubo TV app:

I found these searching on Peacock

I’m cautiously optimistic they’ll be full replays, available a day late. However, even if that’s what they are, that’s pretty shit. It’s hard not having the road race results spoiled today, but I figure I can tough it out until 6 tomorrow morning when I can (hopefully) watch the race in full

Yeah… after how great the tour coverage was on Peacock the olympics are pretty disappointing.

The old nbc sports app had the full replay of the men’s road race. I watched the last 50km this morning.

I had to sign in with my cable provider and there were a few short commercials but otherwise it worked fine.

It looks like they will have the other cycling events too.

This was on Apple TV but I’d bet it is on iOS devices too.

I feel compelled to say that NBC coverage of olympics has been about a 2 out of 10. It’s been truly horrible. Cycling events were not broadcast live. Women’s road race isn’t available for viewing until DAYS after it has completed.

Women’s weightlifting STILL not available for viewing…even though the US had a medal contender in the first flight. As far as I know, not broadcast live.

Entire Judo weightclasses not broadcast (men or women) and as far as I know not available for replay.

NO TRACK CYCLING COVERAGE! Even though US women kind of cleaned up with some dominant performances.

Terrible, terrible coverage.

I think its always been this way. They have never made full replays available until their ‘highlights’ package has aired on the official channel. This is more noticeable the further apart the event time zone is from the major US time zones.

They are fully invested in getting you to tune in at 8, 7 central, for their primary ‘show’, whatever they are calling it, where they’ll show you 30 minutes of beach volleyball, 20 minutes of swimming, 30 seconds each of the ‘lesser’ sports’ and then 60 minutes of gymnastics. Once this has happened they post replays or whatever else

It is complete nonsense, and based on a pre-internet time when this was the only way to actually hear about the events

Whatever the motivation, their coverage is terrible! I’m trying not to, but NBC are really making a primary advertisement to steal the streams from other sources. It’s a lot easier to get the coverage from other ‘providers’.

Couldn’t agree more

One silver lining - its actually better for fans of the less popular sports, like cycling. Imagine you were a die-hard swimming fan. Nearly impossible to watch any of their Olympic coverage without having the results spoiled for you. At least for our sport its possible (although challenging) to avoid spoilers and still see the entire event after it is over

Sorry, I’m bit too late to help, but I watched the entire Tour on GCN+ from the U.S. You just need a VPN. I recommend NordVPN. They’re pretty reliable and have endpoints all over the globe. This means no more territorial blackouts for any GCN+ content.
