Mixed training (with and without power)

I’m new to TR and am setting up a plan.

I usually ride thuesdays, fridays and sundays. Usually outdoors on a bike without power pedals. Now for the winter I want to train indoors on a bike with power pedals. But on Sundays I still want to train outdoors (a bit of gravel fun) and this is without power.

So I’m confused as to how I can mix the non-power workouts with the power workouts in the plan? Can I do a TR workout on sundays without power, just follow heart rate zones? And will TR “accept” this workout as the planned workout afterwards? Not sure I explain this very clearly :laughing:

  • Yes, but TR recommends using RPE more than HR.
