Measuring Heart rate recovery with intervals

Suspect I’m probably overthinking this but here goes.

I’d like to start tracking my heart rate recovery as one of my trending metrics. For an outdoor run this is fairly easy, stop running and measure at 1 and 2 minute intervals immediately after stopping. But if I’m coming off a sweet spot interval workout then I’m wondering if I should measure post cool down or immediately post last interval before going into the cool down period.

Any thoughts?

Use to do it for you.

“ HRRc measures how quickly you recover after a hard effort. It is the largest drop in HR over 60 seconds starting from a HR of at least threshold. The general idea is that, the faster or greater your drop in heart rate, the better your recovery -”

Nice, didn’t realise it did that. Thanks
