Lots of training, zero change in FTP?

I arrived at the first AI FTP assessment since the new AI launch. And the change in FTP is zero.

This after the initial FTP reduction of 5.8%

How? Why?

My training plan is FTP increase. Balanced.

I did all suggested sessions but one, which I did a day earlier.

The initial forecast was +4%, which got reduced to 0.4% soon after and now ended up at zero.

Since I commute by bike once a week, I added a 80 min medium ride to the calendar. This happened after the reduction to 0.4%, btw.

Once again: How? Why?

Once again: How? Why?

Post screenshots of your last 4 weeks training and your projected plan, or make your calendar public, then maybe the forum can help. Otherwise the answer will be ā€˜we don’t know’.

My calendar should be public now.

I should add: since my initial post the actual AI detection happend and it went up 1,8 %. Not 0%.

The question remains, why the AI would predict 0 % gain despite me putting in the work.

What’s your username?

It’d be good to see your calendar. In a nutshell, it predicted 4%, you changed the plan, actual was 1.8%? Seems to be working as intended without more information.

Also, is you calendar ablaze with yellow and red?

I’m no expert but 2 weeks of flu at the start of the year won’t have helped, I hope you are all better now and can look forward to a decent build.

There’s yellow days after most of the prescribed threshold/sweet spot sessions.

The prediction was 0.4 for the most part and went down to 0.

Only the actual detection then added 1.8

So I guess my issue is not AI detection, but prediction. Having a training plan for AI gains that tells me that all my effort will lead to no gains seems very flawed.

Regarding the change I made: Maybe I’m completely off, but a moderate bike ride shouldn’t negate all efforts. What else is zone 2 but a way to increase volume without fatigue.

Not that I can help it, because that’s no joy ride. I got to get to places. AI training plans should adapt for that.

You probably realise that the initial drop was a combination of a few weeks off with sickness and the change in FTP methodology by TR in January. Given those, a 1.8% increase in a month of base isn’t unreasonable.

What I can’t say is why it was showing 0 change as a prediction though - it should match the actual detection when the day comes around. I’d get support to look into that.

You say you’re on a ā€˜balanced’ approach but your calendar shows it as ā€˜custom’ - maybe worth checking to see if one of the zones is inadvertently set wrong, as this might impact your upcoming month’s training and prediction? In general your 3 hard days look like they’re giving you plenty of work (and you’ve rated a few ā€˜very hard’ last month) so try setting it all to ā€˜moderate’ and see if that improves your next prediction at all. Easy enough to change back.

Yeah, calendar looks great. Great consistency. Congrats on the 1.8%!

This calendar looks really good. Sucks that you got ill but it happens.

I think there’s no way you didn’t get stronger, why TR want to hold you at that AIFTP don’t know but have you compared the power numbers of the up coming workouts?

Maybe TR is still progressing up upward so you may see a big jump at the follow AIFTP detection.

He got a 1.8% increase in 28 days :flexed_biceps:

yeah, looks pretty good. @Lindenthal you had a ā€œproblemā€ that I did, where the cadence of your workouts means you get an Endurance every week on a yellow day. I’d be curious what would happen to prediction if you removed the Sunday entirely, that is unless you just want to get out and ride.

Thanks everyone for the input.

Awesome community!

Unfortunately I got hit by another cold just when the new cycle started. I guess the AI prediction became irrelevant once more and can be ignored. Just my luck.
