Let's see your paincave!

Good grief!! You only have 2 eyes you know.

Why do you need a floor lamp?

And a laptop and a phone and an ipad?

Trainer
Fan 1
Fan 2
Fan 3
Heater (my garage is between -2C & +2C for about 4 months of the year)… not that the heater makes a difference
Disco Light (dont ask)
Monitor 1 connected to laptop
Laptop
Monitor 2 connected to training iphone
iPhone
Smart speaker so i can just tell it what music i want to listen to and to change tracks
Fortunately i have 4 sockets and two extensions

My permanent pain cave runs off 4 sockets.
The Gym fan.
Pedestal fan.
Smart  Turbo
Laptop (battery if fully charged only lasts an hour these days.

My temporary pain cave runs of two smaller fans. I dare say they’ll be incorporated to my permanent set up in summer and then I’ll need more sockets :+1:

UPDATE*

Finally got my 4 post rack installed, and it has been a game changer. Since I’m not doing HUGE numbers on squat and bench, I went with a 2”x3” - 11 gauge steel rack from Titan Fitness, this is the T3 model. I bolted it to my platform and it is solid!

Great addition to the pain cave :metal:t2:

Not OP but I dont like working out in the dark so I’ve got overhead lights. I have TV for entertainment, I run zwift on my iPad because I may as well be racking up experience and levels while training on TR. I have TR on my laptop and let’s face it, I just always have my phone with me. I’m not actually looking at it unless someone texts or calls me.

Love it. I would love to do that same type of setup. No basement for me though. I thought about getting the fold up version at Dick’s that is mounted to the garage wall. I also thought about adding an addition to the garage and making the back third a mud room, the front 2/3rds a workout place, then do the new addition to the garage.
I would love to add:
-Smith Machine
-My trainer (have it)
-weights
-Maybe vasa (that’s a bit overboard)
-Spin bike for wife
-Treadmill (have it)
-Maybe an area for jump rope, yoga, punching bag, with TV mounted separate from TV area for Trainer.

Agree - If you have the space and plan to lift weights it is well worth having a proper power cage. Safety first and then the variety of accessories makes the cage a great investment.

I power everything off of two outlets using basic power strips. Pictures are here for reference.

In the front of the room (closet) I have a power strip for the blower and laptop (third picture, top left corner, plus my fancy cable hanging system using 3M hooks). The fridge and small 6" fan for drying my shoes and HRM strap also come off of this power strip. There are USB adapters for recharging headphones, phone, heart rate monitor, head unit, etc. I use smart plugs for the blower and 6" fan so I can turn them on/off remotely and as timers (I ventilate the storage room for 30 minutes after every workout and dry my shoes for up to two hours).

At the back of the room is another power strip connected to the outlet via an extension cord (first picture, bottom right corner). This one has an on/off manual switch so I can leave the trainer permanently plugged in but only on while using it. I also plug in a USB brick for recharging the power meter as needed.

So this is not my paincave, but it is my “man cave”.
It is a 20 foot high cube container, that is insulated, heated, has windows and a door, and has photovoltaic modules on the roof to generate power for the appliances inside.

That’s a brief overview, when you walk through the door:

Can you post a picture of the unit from the outsid? That seems awesome.

I will. Sun‘s down now

I see hanging up a Hadron 800. I’ve got the first gen Hadron 625 which are very noisy in the cool whomp, whomp, whomp way. Do the newer wheels make the same noise ? :grinning:

Edit: totally forgot I’d already posted this. I even searched before posting and didn’t find anything. Oops.

It is a little tricky to get a good angle here, as the container is very close to my canopy, but they should give a good indication.
You don‘t need the tubing on the rear, but I make a living of efficient HVAC Systems, so would be a shame if I didn’t use one here.

The rear of it is not the nicest thing in the world and it would be easy to clean that up. However, it is very close to my company‘s office and no one ever sees the rear, so why bother?
