Fabulous setup! But, given that everything else is premium, please get a Wahoo or Rad Cycle fitness desk for your laptop!
This is pretty makeshift for the training side of things. I only do position work in that room.
My pain room has a proper set up:
Mate, what do you do for a living? Whatever it is, you are winning. ![]()

I am a professional amateur cyclist.
Pro equipment, amateur legs.
I could prob look this up but that would break all kinds of internet laziness rules:
Are you running Zwift (or the like) full screen on that ultra wide or are you running it split screen with media/TR/something else? Does Zwift run at that aspect ratio?
I have a similar screen in the office right now that I am contemplating replacing with the 49"er and could repurpose the 34" to the pain cave.
So this is a 49“ 32:9 Display, with 5120x1440p.
I run Zwift in full Resolution on an MBPro, but any PC or Mac can make Zwift super wide without over stretching it. The added experience is there, but is t huge either. A little downside might be, that it requires more head movement (some might see this as added experience). It does work well however. You could run split screen, if you system can handle that, but I run all my workouts directly through Zwift.
During a workout:
During free riding:
I’m still picking my jaw up, off the floor! Such a great training space ![]()
I wanna see what’s in the “Men’s Kitchen!”
Sometimes I feel these paincaves need to include the owner’s career choice ![]()
The whole work bench is called „Men‘s Kitchen“. The cupboard to the left is just full of spares, tires, tubes, etc.
Exactly my thinking. I figured I do very well for myself but then I see those super fancy setups and bikes and wonder where I screwed up. ![]()

That’s awesome. So, you get paid to ride?! Or you have another career as well. I’m in love with your bikes and your set up. Would love some of your cast away bikes if they are a 54 or 56! Haha
Hehe! No, that was just a joke.
I have another career. Single Family detached homes is what my company does.
Regarding bike sizes, am a long limped man so they are:
Émonda, Æthos, S5: 58
Open Wide: XL
ShivTT: L
Totally off topic, but I’m curious about the recommended HVAC systems! I’m renovating my house and would love a high-efficiency unit (or units), but I’ve been advised against Mitsubishi by a couple of people. It looks like you have something else. What is it?
I can’t happen to find such appliance on American websites, probably because typical AC systems are more common there.
I use a system like this (https://www.purmo.com/de/produkte/lueftungssysteme/vido.htm ) (they have a US webpage, but don’t sell the device there apparently).
This is like a radiator, but for cooling and heating and is especially designed for low temperature heating systems. It is powered by a air-water-heating pump which again is powered by Photovoltaic.
gotta be one of the best here!
Finally broke down and bought the Lasko Pro model fan (Model U15617)
Holy cow, this fan is amazing!
Before my ride starts, the overhead black fan is on medium, then the tall skinny fan on left comes on via remote and can oscillate or stop where I want it, then the Lasko and tall fan on right are on the same remote switch and both are on high. Those come on when I really start to sweat. I feel like I finally have my fan set up dialed in after all these years ![]()
I have no excuse for over heating now ![]()
