Leg Muscle Newbie Gain and Weight

Hi guys

First year cycling seriously.

Started this spring, and with Canadian fall/winter I’ve been on TrainerRoad for roughly 3-4 months now with no outside rides for the past 2 months.

I lost roughly 20-25 lbs when I was still riding outside.

Since riding only inside, my weight loss has plateau’d. I still have a bunch of fat to lose.

The point of the topic though, is that despite all the weight plateau, I definitely have seen an amelioration in body comp (belly fat, face fat, more defined legs, etc.)

So my question: has anybody ever quantified how much leg muscle gain in weight one can expect as a newbie, if you exclude any auxiliary strength training?

Eyeballing, my body looks as if I’ve lost an extra 5ish pounds … could I really have gained 5 lbs in muscle?

Cheers!

It’s tough to quantify without DEXA scans (or similar)… But, it certainly sounds like you’re on the right track!

Since it’s nearly impossible to tell without all of the lab testing/equipment, I think it would be best to simply keep up the good work. Sounds like you’re getting where you want! :muscle:
