I was thinking about ‘upgrading’ to a Kickr Core because I have an ancient V2 with a million miles on it. The Core has a 12.5 pound flywheel. My old V2 has a 13 pound flywheel. The new Kickr has a 16 pound flywheel.
I’m mostly wondering if the 16 pound flywheel is a major feature. (I just ride in resistance mode, do intervals that I’ve planned out, and rarely do ERG mode.)
My thought was to sell my old Kickr for a couple of hundred, buy a new Core on sale. I’d have a new trainer and a quieter trainer. This feature appeals to me a lot.
I’ve searched the internet and couldn’t really find anyone that said anything significant about the flywheel weights. I watched DC Rainmaker’s Kicker comparison video and he didn’t mention the flywheel weights and basically said that the Core was a 2017 Kickr with different feet for way cheaper.
(I actually bought two Inside Ride eflex units super cheap - so cheap I couldn’t pass up. A v1 which works with my current Kicker and a V2 which works with a Core. Thus, I don’t care about the Kickr axis feet. If I got the Core, I’ll just sell the Eflex V1.)
