JOIN cycling app

And what does TR estimate ?

2 weeks ago when my TR subscription ended, it was also around that value. 263 or so.

I’ve been using Join for a month or two now, since I started my preparations for the 2023 Marmotte. I was never able to do proper structured training as life always got in the way, but Join gives me some sort of discipline and a huge amount of flexibility.

I still try to get my head around how eFTP works. End of summer my FTP was around 255 (according to a ramp test and two weeks later an 20 minute test). Intervals.icu says it is now 252. A week ago my Join eFTP was 252 as well (after a block of VO2max workouts), but it now has decreased to 247. Join wanted me to take rest days, but I overruled Join and didn’t (come on, no riding in the weekend is a no-no!). Yesterday I took a rest day and this morning I did a cadance pyramid workout after which my eFTP dropped to 247.

BTW, mrpedro: where in NL are you located?

Just outside Den Haag, you in NL also?

Yes. Bollenstreek.

My join eFTP has been going up, but intervals.icu thinks it’s still the same as before. Which doesn’t surprise me, because intervals.icu estimates it from a max effort between 3 and 12 minutes (I think). And then it can only go down, unless you do another effort that puts it higher. I haven’t done any max efforts of the duration for a while. The question for me it, whether Join is right that it has gone up!

Just wondering which plan everyone is following? Im doing the 3 month “Indoor Plan”.

FTP Builder for me, when I return to training.

I’m doing the Gravel plan. I’m doing the 200k Dirty Reiver at the end of April. Well that’s the plan anyway. Tried to do it in 2018 and had to bail and do the 130k one

Thats at Keilder isn’t it?

Doing the Amstel Gold tour 150k, ahead of the actual race mid April. That was actually also one of the goals in Join.

I tried the app for the 14 days free version. I don’t know if I would use it. Did choose the condition plan but when I set my availability to max I does not schedulde that much pure endurance rides. I don’t think it is for riders who like high volume. For 8-12h polarized approach it could be good…

How do you know this after just 14 days. It follows a progressive ramp in volume.

I don’t  But in the schedule I see some numbers and they never rise? It is always 9 or 12?
And I started at level 30 and if I look at that progressive line in my schedule it will only go lower?

It’s no criticism, but I lack a bit of input or more information about where the plan will evolve in. Just my n=1.

In August I started putting some consistent time in again, at some point I stopped following the TR program and did only Z2 rides. By the last week of October I started with Join. Weekly hours are plotted in the bottom graph in green. As you can see, hours first went down with Join and then went back up a little but remained rather stable. On the other hand the Fitness keeps progressing at an optimal tempo:

So you have set availability to 6 hours every day but are getting “only” 9 or 12 hr weeks, while you were doing much more in the past weeks?

That is a bit strange, what did you set as a goal and for what date?

I believe when you set a goal it gives a range for the score that is needed. Perhaps if your current score is already higher, it will optimize the path to get you to the top of the range of the goal score.

In that case you would need to set higher goals.

Yep, mine looks like that in intervals.icu too. Fitness keeps going up (slowly), and training load is in the green region.
