Jetblack Victory

I like that rocker platform! I have a Saris MP1 I got on sale for $600 a few years ago, and the motion, though not ‘realistic’, does make riding the trainer much more comfortable for me. The MP1 is one-piece, big, heavy, and def not silent. It also exhibits the “child’s swing” effect GPLama mentions. It’s got a pretty big range of motion, but in practice only a small amount is utilized and is what makes the difference comfort-wise. This JetBlack rocker looks like a much better solution.

Just had this arrive, nice touch.

Unusual to see good customer service these days.

A nice “we’re sorry for being months behind delivery” you mean.

what is it?

Less than a month delay here, and they’ve been honest about it from the beginning (plus gave options to cancel). Zero issues with how they’ve handled it tbh.

@dangardiner Just a small sports towel, nothing fancy, but nice enough.

They said end of October here, and I still haven’t even got a shipment notice. They did say the ship landed in port in CA, at least another week or so until I get it. So a month and a half delay. Which is mainly annoying because it’s full on indoor trainer season here so that’s a good month of not riding (I even had to try treadmill running :smiling_face_with_tear:).

I also found it sort of a slap in the face that I got the email this morning saying, “by now, you should have received your thank you gift” meaning the package you got. But I and about a dozen others so far have said they didn’t receive anything. I wasn’t expecting anything, so it would be a plus, but don’t tell us we already received it when most haven’t.

Odd, I didn’t get any email. Might be different countries done at different times though.

I just got the e-mail that pre-orders for end of January delivery are open…go grab one if you want one.

(For the US market)

Pre-orders now open for the UK too - delivery Feb. Really hope we don’t have substantial delays, already a shame to miss most of the indoor winter season but should be worth the wait!

Love to see Jetblack release a smart bike wonder if they will, only a matter of time surely.

I’ll be surprised if they ever do….it is a smaller market than most people think it is. Too many compromises - cost, weight, etc.

If they did anything, my guess would be something more along the route of the Zwift Ride / Elite Square.

There really isn’t many compromises going down that route over doing a bike.

Maybe footprint?

I can see the smartbike becoming a bit niche - if it isn’t already.

Well if they announce it now, should make it to customers by 2040.

I placed a pre-order for the Feb shipment as well last week. Luckily on the same day bike24 had a handful on stock. So I canceled the pre-order and have already received the Victory.

The trainer is great and replaced my Kickr v5 which is now used by my wife on her own bike. I really like the combination with cog & click on Zwift.
The trainer feels great. I even like the „feel“ more than the Kickr. So no reason for me to buy a more expensive trainer anymore.

If my kickr broke tomorrow then the jetblack would be high on the list to replace it… but I’m interested in the decision to upgrade to it by choice… what do you feel it adds? Or were you just really keen on the cog n click?

The virtual shifting was a main factor as I exclusively ride on Zwift.
As I use an Apple TV, I can use the trainer to connect my heart rate monitor which would not be possible with the limited Bluetooth connections with Apple TV.

If these aspects are not relevant for you, then I see the Kickr v5 and the Victory on the same level.

I could finally remove the last cable from my trainer bike which is now wheels, brakes and gears free.

Mine just arrived (UK). Will hopefully have time to set it up for tomorrow’s session.

Edit - Are people really still complaining about waiting a few months? I’ve got ADHD and even I’ve got more patience than that!

Well, when a few months is the majority of indoor trainer season, yes it’s a big deal.

If it’s not that big of a deal, just take 2 months off from riding your bike, you’ll be fine.

Unless your existing trainer had broken, I don’t really see why that would be an issue.

Or you don’t have one and preordered it back in August because they said October delivery and that would have been perfect to start indoor training then. But they messed up shipping and now you’re 2 months late waiting on a trainer.

It’s just not a good look for them.
