Can you share your calendar or screenshots of the last consecutive six weeks please?
Mine has done the same despite feeling like I’m working hard, sticking to the plan, rating workouts as expected. Maybe 7-8 hrs a week is not enough (for me)… in which case I admit defeat.
well i still notice gain in the power curve but just dont know the gain was from the plan i followed or because i ride the bike since i currently returning from collarbone injury that take me off the bike for 3 month

Can I also ask what the recommended plan was vs the plan you chose?
Ok so;
- Set up a table near your bike so you have everything you could possibly need within arms reach
- Pee before you start riding and make sure your shoes are comfortable, and again afterwards.
- Learn to stay on the bike and pedalling, particularly your vo2 and threshold rides.
- Do your big outdoor ride on the last day of your trading week, before rest week
I think even a week like that will show your prediction improve.
It does look as though there are an awful lot of pauses throughout most of your workouts. The system really has no choice but to interpret those workouts as being too difficult for you to complete as prescribed and will not give you harder workouts.
If you need to keeping stopping to tighten your shoes then I think you likely need new shoes.
If you need to keep stopping to pee then maybe you are over-hydrated before getting on the bike or drinking too much coffee/tea which is having a diuretic effect??
If you reeeeally just can’t get through a workout without a pee break you should probably explore having a pee bottle available and pee during your rest intervals but keep the pedals turning. There are days when my baseline hydration is higher than usual and I need to pee during the workout and a bottle works just fine though it takes a bit of getting used to the mechanics of it and its not ideal if you’re a person who’s trainer is in a public area of the house obviously.
But as far as your FTP being stuck. You’ve got to start getting through the workouts as prescribed - without pauses - or your athlete progression levels will stay stagnant.
I’ve kind of been feeling that my FTP has been stagnant for the last 4 months, but have been setting power PRs so don’t think that’s the whole picture. If you look at my FTP history I think I’ve made pretty good gains in a year, but have sort of stalled out once the AIFTP prediction came out. I made a large gain in my first month of beta so maybe I just jumped up a lot all at once instead of steady increases.
The one thing I’ve been struggling with is completing my final set of threshold intervals, usually around 50 minute mark. They’ve been tough and it has seemed like I can’t power through them. Get stuck in level 3, maybe level 4, workouts because I can’t progress. I think it may be a time to exhaustion thing at my power. Maybe I need to do longer interval workouts. Don’t really know.
I like to think I’ve had good plan compliance with the exception of two weeks that were both in build which did probably hurt some of my FTP gains. One week for an ice storm that knocked out our power and another for a week long sales meeting. Both were week 2 of build 1 and build 2. I usually don’t take breaks or back pedal unless I absolutely need to(usually reserved to those very tough threshold workouts).
Not sure if bumping down the FTP and getting higher workout levels may help me get through my “plateau” or maybe it’s a volume issue. Feel free to check out my calendar, it’s public.

Similar to the OP there’s loads of interruptions in your indoor training. Compared to outdoor riding a lot of the magic is in the continuous pedalling.
You also have blow out group rides each month that are way over your usual training stimulus - followed by two red days. It’s too much stimulation.
Are you looking at the right calendar? I’ve had two red days since November. This past Sunday after my B race and then one in November early in the plan.

Lots of big gains last year, even a +9% in December and then holding steady despite a fluctuating work load.
It’s not so easy to read a calendar showing zwift routes, but from the tss it doesn’t seem like you have steady progression and consistent recovery weeks. But your planned tss often matches your done tss even when you’ve failed workouts, so there could be more to that.
You are constantly doing scheduled workouts though which is great, so maybe a plateaux that could be tackled with better rest and nutrition.
Does plan builder suggest more or less work than planned? I see you’ve just started specialityvphase.
Yeah I’ve been following the check volume and TR plan pretty well for weekly load. I checked it after this and it had me exactly at my current approach and time. Granted I only have 4 weeks left to my A race so doubt much would change.
It very well could be recovery. I forgot I stopped taking my protein shakes for digestive reasons and that could be part of it. Started back up on a new recovery shake and think that may be helping.
Wish I could sleep more but with a difficult job and toddler it’s either sleep or train so limited on that front.
Don’t really have any races for the rest of the year so probably will take a week or two break and then start a new training plan or just focus on endurance. May mess around with my own scheduling within TR. I’ve felt my best gains have come in the base phase of TR plans. Think I respond well to SS
To me this is an endurance issue. Increased volume and a long ride will help later in workouts and races. ![]()
