Very nice feature! It would be great if you could include weekly group rides into scheduling (maybe with estimated TSS?).
Hi. I would like to be able to delete days from the plan during the scheduling step please. For instance i want to do 90min sweetspot rides from a high volume plan only and delete the easy days as I only have four days to train and get my 6 hours in.
Need a little work on the Brick run titles in the Full Distance option, As they no longer reflect the ride that they are accompanying.

@purgatos @mwglow15 One thing that could work in your scenario is to schedule your plan to start the week after your SSB plan completes, and bump your experience level to High. What that is doing is placing an emphasis on Build and Specialty, and in the instance that you have less than 28 weeks to train would cut Base out first.
We will discuss applying a plan in the past a bit more as a team.
Must be a timing to event thing, as I’ve just done SSB1 and it’s starting me on SSB2. Or maybe it’s dependant on the experience options you pick? I picked “advanced” fwiw.
@Jonathan I have a stage race (A race) in my calendar - When I go to include it and the rest of my races in the builder it leaves the stage race out. The builder ignores my stage race and schedules for my late summer A race as if the stage race doesn’t exist. If I delete the stage race and add the first day as a single event, the builder properly adds the peak to this race. Is there a way to get the builder to include the whole stage race and peak to it properly?
first of all let me say that it is a fantastic new feature
I have 2 problems (first minor)
1- if I add more than 6 races the system does not allow me to go ahead (the next button is disabled): if I understand correctly I should enter my races manually in the calendar first and then launch the new command including the already present races, it is correct ?
2- my season starts on November 1st so I am already at the penultimate week of base 1: obviously the custom plan starts from base 1 so I tried to start the new custom plan at the end of the current one and tried to delete the weeks already done by moving (pull) the remaining ones to the end of the current one from the calendar.
I did not succeed in any way
how can the current plan be recognized or start with the custom one later (eg from base 2) or how to modify the custom based on what has already been done?
the best solution would be to set the start date retroactively so to skip weeks already done but it’s not possible
Our plans are evidence based. If we see in the literature that there’s another method that’s superior to our mostly Coggan approach we’ll investigate and update our plans to follow that.
We don’t have plans on offering a smorgasbord of training types and have the athlete choose, especially when we think one of them is superior for AG athletes.
The thing I’m most excited about is AI training. I think that’s going to push the entire world forward.
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I’m planning far out enough that it doesn’t affect my suggested plan. I’ll probably have to just manually map out what this suggests which is ultimately OK.
I think applying a plan in the past will be a use case that comes up less and less the longer this feature is in place, since if this had been here when first mapping out my training I’d never want to revisit the past in the same way.
What about the question I asked earlier?..
What if I want to go the traditional base route instead of the ssb1 and 2?
There is evidence. This 5 year old blog post from coach Joe Friel is the most balanced article I’ve read. No hype, just lays it all out.
You can do this. Click on the “Build” banner on the start date of the build plan. You can change the plan from Gen to Sustained. Tested and works great.
@Nate_Pearson when you hinted about machine learnibg a while back I actually thought that was a briliant idea…
Cannot wait to see what comes of it…
Is this only available after you schedule the plan? and not in the plan builder tool?
Good point. You can click the Build banner in the calendar and change the plan type. I didn’t try that in the plan builder tool
@Jonathan figuring Plan Builder will come up in today’s podcast. The plan builder ran shorter base and put a specialty period in the calendar – is that a “faster” option vs double base (SSB I and II) and racing at the end of build? (My A race has suddenly been moved to 16 May 2020).
Ahh okay
I hadn’t added the plan to my calendar yet.
This is good…This is really good
One note is that you MUST have a B race in order to proceed with the plan creation. Figured this out when my A race moved up so much there are no races before hand.
