One question/suggestion: Is it possible to recalculate the plan after sickness/injury? Would be really cool! Also if one could already plug in known âoff-weeksâ beforehand, would be great (and for example classify them as ârecoveryâ or âhigh stressâ).
One note: When the builder doesnât schedule the full block, sometimes there is no ramp test included. Not a big deal as one can just exchange the workout, but people new to Trainerroad might not be aware.
And one suspected bug: I get an error (same as @janneseppala posted above) whenever i try to change the volume of single blocks manually.
I changed these to Gran Fondo, as I wonât be racing even if theyâre timed (Dirty Reiver and Lakelander). Deleted the plans and re scheduled and came back with Sustained Power into Century. I probably shouldâve tried changing them to see what happened!
Itâs excellent. But the Vacation/ Week Off/ Sick House option probably fairly urgent need?
Advance your goal event in time by how many weeks youâve already completed. I just look at the resulting plan, so mentally skip the parts youâve already done. If, for example, youâve just finished SSB1, set your goal event 6 weeks later than it really is.
Just plugged everything in with a couple of races, and it looks great. One comment I do have is that if races are grandfondoâs, which mine are, then I donât normally bother with a specialty phase, just switching between ssB2 and one of the build phases (or half of a build phase) through out the season, so an option to not do a specialty block could be a thing.
@Nate_Pearson To extend this question a bit furtherâŚany plans to incorporate some form of polarized plans in the (distant) future? Or will TR stay mainly SweetSpot driven?
Looks like a great option. I think the triathlon planning needs some help. When I did a test setup, it was giving me the option of 3 rides and 3 runs per week. But when i hit plan, it just gave me 2 rides and 2 runs per week. I train about 7-10 hours per week and it suggested the MV planset. I would rather do LV and add workouts than skip something.
If planning 2 A races, first triathlon then road race, then in the Schedule tab the week distribution mixes the triathlon plan days and the road race plan days into one week which is super confusing. Ideally you should have triathlon and road race disciplines separated as 2 graphics for individually setting week distribution.
Now you can use âCustomize training days for each blockâ as workaround. (BTW: when I did this for the above scenario, the customized days were not considered but the plan was unfolded with standard default day distribution into the calendar. Seems like a little bug there. In the last overview itâs ok, but after inserting itâs wrong in the calendarâŚjust could reproduce the bug.)
Have added an A 70.3 event in April and wanted the plan to start this Saturday. Kicks off with a run and a swim for Friday and then the ramp test on Saturday⌠That was not how I intended it, but maybe I misunderstood. Bug?
my Time trialling races progress from 25s in April, through 50 in May, then 100s in June and July to a 12hr on 2nd August. This is what i did last year. However, I ended up with a series of 40kTT mid volumes in the latter stages, which is not enough (I tend to train around 600-700TSS through this period.) So my first concern is that the intensity of longer Time Trials is not reflected in the programme
When I changed the level of effort for the 40kTT programme running into July and August from mid volume to high volume, I got a server error.
3rd question: Around this time as the warmer weather comes I tend to ride long paced TT sessions at under race effort, often 3-4 hours each (just to get comfortable with the bike, feeding and pacing). However the 40kTT has only 2-3 hr rides in it. I guess I would need to up these as a later consideration once I had got the essence of the programme built. Is that fair?
Can I save the scheduled plan without scheduling it (committing it to the calendar) , so I can look at it again later and give it the thoughtful consideraton it deserves?
This isnât a new bug, but something Iâd like to be able to do that the calendar canât do now is delete training days - for instance, I am âdoingâ SSB mid, but I am actually doing the high volume workouts on Tue/Thur/Sat. If I added High Volume to the calendar Iâd have to delete some extra days every week manually, so I am manually changing the workouts on a per workout basis. Some way of deleting, say, the Wed and Fri workouts from the plan when initially planning would be ideal.*
*yes, I know itâd mess up the planned TSS, but itâd be consistently deleting a chunk of each week so wouldnât effect the progression. Even better would be if I could choose to insert the Mid Vol Wed workout, as thatâs what Iâm actually doing.
An actual bug found - when the plans are in the calendar, you can click on the first day of Specialty and change the focus, for instance I want to change rolling road race to 40k TT, Iâm getting an error when trying to do this though.
Anyone having problem with the ânextâ bottom after planning your events? It just not highlighted for me to select, tried on my iPad and computer, no luck on either,
This is great and I ams sure will stop your support getting loads of requests of the âwhat plan natureâ.
Using the planner for a half triathlon at the end of June. I have been given 8 weeks of base followed by 14 weeks of build, then specialty. Is the 14 weeks of build a bug? i have never read or heard on the podcast a double build recommendation?
Ah yes that might be another workaround (if both A events are at least 8 weeks apart). Nevertheless a fix would be welcome if workaround is not possible.
+1 on a way to take into account recently completed plans. Iâm in week 5 of SSB1 and the builder is telling me to start with another 6 weeks of SSB1. If this is intended and recommended then thatâs okay. Otherwise, maybe a way to enter your weaknesses that you would like to work on. I have my A race set as a crit with some other crits and road races in there and would like to work on my sustained power. My current progression is SSB 1&2 â Sustained Build â SSB2 â General Build â Crit. This is essentially recommending the same thing but with a General Build in place of the sustained build. So and option to work on weaknesses if you have the extra time would be great.
