I agree, would love alpha 1 data but as that is a big step, would love if they just recorded the r-r intervals. Alpha 1 can always be computed later.
(To get this data to be good the heat rate strap would need to be paired over Bluetooth to trainerroad)
I would really love this feature right now. After 9 weeks of perfect adherence to the plan my trainer failed and I missed 10 days of prescribed workouts while the trainer was being fixed (did some outdoor rides but they weren’t structured). I got my trainer back at the tail end of week 11 but now I’m in the midst of home renovations so I’m juggling that with work and my sleep has suffered.
I failed Dicks -1 today and I have Mount Goode +3 up next. Would be great if AT could just knock that one down a notch.
Now that I know AT is coming it feels so backwards to have to adjust my plan manually like in the old days!
Were they structured (following a TR) or unstructured? If unstructured then they haven’t trained it to take those in yet.
I’ve done scheduled TR outside workouts that aren’t affecting progression levels or receiving outcome or progression ratings either. But it’s all being worked on, I’m sure they’ll have that out for the close-beta folks soon.
At this time, it appears only indoor TR workouts are getting the full AT treatment.
Bit of both - probably 50:50. Not in any hurry to see this incorporated as I do my own training plans, but plan on using AT once it includes all rides.
I’ll gladly take your place on the beta though!
Well, I’ll start with the TR workouts again to load data to the levels (I can find ones that match my plan and will take it from there).
ach. Still waiting on the AT Beta. Come on TR, please reward your loyal long time users!
If it helps you feel better about not being in the group yet, we are seeing some bugs that are making the experience less than ideal. I’m making several manual edits and actually ignoring AT at the moment because the suggested changes are not worthwhile. Survey responses getting lost and other items not working as intended.
This is beta testing, and the experience is not perfect. Just a reminder that there is a benefit, but also a cost to being at the leading edge of this process. Some people are likely better off waiting until they get it fully right. It’s not all perfect on this side right now, and that’s OK as long as you know it and are willing to work around those bugs.
@mcneese.chad makes me feel better. I guess I can wait. Besides, many of us who have been using TR for a while now are reasonably adept at making their own changes to training plans. Just takes a little time to find similar workouts with a little more/less intensity.
Sure, and I am fine with making my own mods. I’ve been doing as much for years before now, so more of the same. I am sure there are people willing to make similar changes, like you. But I also get the feeling that not everyone falls into that camp. And they would really not like having to deal with the issues we have in the last two weeks or so.
I think plenty of people forget this is not a finished product, and get frustrated they aren’t invited yet. I just mentioned it to help them see why TR is taking this path and the delays in getting more people in are a sign that they still have work to do to improve the results for everyone. No doubt they will get it polished, but sometimes it’s better to wait for the cake to be completely cooked before taking a slice
yeah but you also give updates. agile in action - you are good brah
Since it looks like we are going to need to wait longer to see the ratings on workouts, what if someone at TR kicked out a simple excel spreadsheet with the name of the workout and the associated rating? It would be really nice to try to “manually” do AT by adjusting workouts after I have struggled with one. Having access to those ratings would be so helpful. For example, Baird +2 is kicking my trash. Should I go ahead and try to complete Dade +1 this weekend, or find something a little more tame?
At the moment, there is also some wonkiness happening on progression levels with at least 1 workout and its + variants. So an offline spreadsheet would be less than ideal, until this wonkiness gets fixed.
Because you asked, I looked, and Baird variants are showing this wonkiness - see the below
How? What do you mean? Looks right to me, but I’ve only glanced.
Maybe it’s based on IF, not TSS?
I think I shared above how a lot of SSB1 HV had adaptations pending after I skipped the ramp test and did an outdoor ride yesterday. I declined those and went with the regularly scheduled Geiger, which went off as expected. I started with a sweet spot level of 4.0, and despite this workout being a 4.5, I am a 5.1 level sweet spot after today’s ride. I did also immediately get suggestions to modify workouts going forward, seemingly with smaller jumps in level progression and not going straight into the 6 level stuff. Not sure if I’ll go with it just to see how adaptation goes, generally I have no issues with the 6 level stuff. ANyhow, just sharing for everyone to see how it’s going
Look at the variant order and relative progression levels. Baird -2 should be easier than Baird, but it has a higher progression level. Which means that the - or + variants aren’t consistently easier / harder based off of the number / order. So the + / - doesn’t have any intrinsic meaning. It doesn’t imply that a workout is longer / shorter than the base, or harder / easier. So what does the + / - mean?
