Help with Guard workout sprints and Kickr Shift bike

Would love input from other Kickr Shift users. I did the Guard workout (in resistance mode), which has repeats of 6 sec sprints at 120rpm followed by 105% FTP at 100 rpm for 24 seconds. I’ve never been able to get the Kickr Shift to catch up to power numbers quickly after very high rpm sections, even with shifting. So the workout data shows very low power for the 105% FTP portions. As a result, the workout TSS was 51/71. Never had that kind of drop before.

Again, I disabled ERG mode. I suppose I could have tried spinning really slow in the 24 sec sections to let the trainer catch up but I prioritized rpm and 6 sec power targets instead. I ranked the workout as moderate but with the TSS drop it “feels” like a failed workout and my predicted FTP dropped by a watt as well.

Has anyone had luck with getting the Kickr to knock back on quickly after 120+rpm sprints?

Use brakes?

I had couple years ago Kickr Bike v1, and used brakes for max efforts as TR prescribed bursts were too low for me (in erg mode).
