Interesting insight. I was wondering why they re-revealed the course of CM this week, after it had been released earlier.
Hi All: I have done a number of HR events (Alps, Dolomites, Pyrenees and Ventoux x2 or 3). Due to increase in fees this year and no infinity pass, decided to give Tour Transalp a try. For those who have done Transalp or both Transalp and HR, would be interested in your feedback on transalp - course, organization etc. Thanks in advance.
Anyone doing Haute Route Dolomites later on this year? A bit over two months left, so I’m thinking through how to get more dialed in on event-specific training.
40some days to HR Alps and I’m in the midst of the same.
Can somebody confirm if they actually exclude the descents from timing? Thanks
Some/most, but not all - it depends on how safe they deem the descents to be. I’ve watched videos from previous years, and it becomes obvious why some descents can’t be timed, they’re just too jam packed.
Likewise here, coming up real soon and I’m just trying to finish my training strong without blowing up. About 4 weeks left of hard work before I start to taper. I’ll be starting to reduce volume on the 16th … damn close now!
Tested myself a couple times this weekend, was able to hold about 90% for 15 mins to finish off a 6hr ride on Friday. Had a busy/social Friday/Saturday at the lake, so recovery wasn’t ideal. Tried a couple efforts again today and was able to hold just over my FTP for normalized on a 20m KOM (and just under for average). Feeling good about the training so far, hopefully it can translate into a good result and a good time!
ETA: Just realized you posted about last year! Hope it went well
