You’d make a calendar event in your personal calendar (probably can be non-Google calendar software as well) and add that email address as an invitee (guest) of the event your create and send. It’s just like a booking a meeting room at an office, if folks are familiar with that.
Familiar with that. Just wondering why I cannot see anyone elses tests
Hmmm
@admigo are you able to see the Pettit I sent to the calendar?
Cannot create an event on your calendar.
So I click on the google calendar link and this is what I see. Also is there a way to save the calendar like you can in outlook where you click/unclick someones calendar to see the events?
I see your TR Test on mine
Maybe will try to add from computer instead if app.
Yes, looks like it’s acting differently on mobile there
Works now after I added it via the web. See it on the app now
Looks like this works well based on the test Pettit +1 I added for tomorrow morning 7:15 UK time.
Not sure I want to do that ride so will make sure I remember to adjust if I’m not going to go ahead with it or if I’m doing a different workout.
I can see lots of sessions popping up in the calendar now (using desktop computer to view). Some of the sessions are shown in full colour where the invite has been accepted by the TrainerRoad calendar user, some are shown without colour where the guest is showing as “awaiting”. Don’t think that matters to the effectiveness.
Thanks
Would it be worth adding the training block you are in when creating an event? I could see value in people matching up with other training block partners
I simply only see the one event from Chad. Still hasn’t synced anything… ideas?
EDIT Scratch that. It just worked. Weird.
I added my Disaster -2 for this Saturday.
I am seeing other events from other users.
This looks like a solid start. I want to see how it rolls for a bit, but will likely add the instructions you guys have made into the OP at the top.
Thanks for all the work! Love this group
So there is no way to add yourself to the original invite from someone else correct? This just serves as a guide to who is doing what with the code so if you can join you can correct?
@dbf brings up a very valid point. When you guys & gals send the meeting invite to the calendar it displays it publically but the calendar has it marked as maybe and the event is white with an orange border. I can go in and manually say “Yes” attending to the event and it’ll make the event filled in orange. To track how many participants will be attending will get confusing if I’m responding yes to all the Event notices. Just know when you post to the calendar the 1 maybe will be the calendar itself.
doing spencer +2 in 5 min. join m3rfen
Each event would only have the open room code - so it would be the first 5 people at that time that join the group workout. Good point you bring up regarding tracking participants
And, to @ericallenboyd’s point also (I think), if you want to add yourself as 1 of the possible 4 guests for the workout, I suppose the simple answer is you email the specific event host. So if you email me, from the link to my hosting email address in my Pettit on the calendar for example, then I’d add you as another invitee, and (I think) other TR viewers will see the number of participants grow and once it reaches 4 plus the shared calendar then it’s “full”. Excepting last minute no-shows of course.
Boss is asking for me to do some stuff for him now, Once I get finished with my work I’ll do a more thorough walk through on this and share with you.
