AND you can create different groups in WhatsApp with an actual link to join, and people on iOS and Android can use it etc. it’s pretty slick and as much as I hate using Facebook stuff, it works really well.

So you’re already using a group messaging method, and having trouble getting clarity on the group ride? I’m not sure if any of these other suggestions are going to help. I really like the Slack interface, but it may not solve your current problem. If the issue is getting the plan together, the issue may not be the tool but rather the leadership.

100% this. Speaking as somebody who used to organize groups of people to do hobby-level things, no amount of technology is going to fix people not wanting to operate as a group. On the flip side, if everybody’s bought in, they’ll make it work regardless of the tech you choose.
