Hello! one part of my side wall of my tire has started peeling… its about 9 months old. retains air well, no sealant leaking. do i need to replace the tire? Thanks!
These tires have a reflective band glued to the sidewall that is then covered in black paint or other type of black adhesive. It looks like the coating is peeling or the reflective strip itself is losing adhesion.
It doesn’t seem like a big deal if it comes off. You could use glue or rubber cement to stick it back into place. I rode the tire below often on gravel which caused the strip to start peeling almost immediately, didn’t notice any issues over the life of the tire.
