Goodbye to TR - no motivation to renew subscription

I’m really on the fence regarding TR employees bringing up rider history on the forum without explicit permission.

On the one hand, if this was a human coach’s website, and a customer created an account on the coach’s forum and said “Goodbye Coach - no motivation to renew subscription” I think it would be totally in the coach’s right to use their experience with the athlete to counteract criticisms raised. “Hold on you didn’t actually follow a plan” would be a valid point.

However, when this happens on here it does seem to be flying pretty close to the line of using gathered personal data for purposes other than the reason it was supplied.

Granted I’m from Europe, and I don’t think the USA is as hot on the case when it comes to protecting user data, but it’s not a massive stretch to argue TR are using gathered data incorrectly, and if the user also argues that the data is classed as medical (which I think heart rate data now is for example) - fines can be high.

I will state though that whenever I see a TR representative do this on the forum it is always respectful and seems to come from the right place.

I wont pretend to know what the answer is.
