If you’re not interested in doing it for yourself, then it’s a lot of hassle for little return. I’ve always recorded and posted my races from the beginning, but I was doing it for me to review and get better at racing. Plus, I enjoyed watching them back on the trainer. Over the years my videos and my performance has gotten better, but it’s been a lot a work on both ends.
Some of my videos get +/- a 1,000 views and a few get much more, but I’m not concerned either way. I record my videos because I enjoy them, and if I enjoy them maybe a few other people will as well. Hopefully this encourages others to race locally. Racing videos is what got me into racing and I’ve met numerous people at races that said they’ve watched my videos. So I hope, at least in part, I’m helping our local race scene to keep going.
I make some videos mostly for learning from my mistakes, data overlays work with tr mini mode.
And I would Whole heartily agree with @MI-XC, unless you want to do it for yourself or are willing to put in a ton of effort, don’t do it. That said perhaps the new cameras with the easy overlay stuff might make it easier?
Same here, but I post my vids with the aspirational goal of having the lowest number of subscribers and views. Lol. I’ve been taking a critical look at my CX vids, and it’s helped in finding out where I’m getting gapped (not enuf pedaling thru turns and too much comfort braking) and double checking my line choice (not bad) with vids of faster racers. It’s just another video to watch on the trainer, especially when they have the same course the following year. One of these days I should write in the description about soliciting comments from viewers for constructive criticism…Once in a while when people ask at cocktail mixers, I show them a vid on the phone.
I actually prefer to watch the videos of faster racers. I utterly cannot watch my older cringe-fest videos where I am terribly slow like molasses.
