Hi, I went on a two week holiday and as a result Garmin downgraded my ‘optimal range’ for training load. As a result it’s been consistently telling me over the last couple of weeks that I’m ‘overreaching’ and even ‘strained’. I’ve taken a few points off my FTP to 255 but I feel fine and my sleep and HRV has also been ok. Smashed a VO2max workout this morning and felt great. So I’ve just been ignoring this and as the trend is upwards it looks like my workouts will fall back within the optimal range in due course. Anyone else have experience of this? Is ignoring this unwise would you say or just a glitch/limitation of Garmin? Thanks
Garmin doesn’t know sh*t, Go by feel instead.
I see the same, specially after holiday, but it also doens’t like 2 long rides a week. It like to spread the load more (which makes sense, but, it’s not necessarily bad. if any, not optimal).

Yeah. Ultimately it’s how I feel and perform. The worst that can happen is I get fatigued and not doing well, at which point some recovery is in order. Aiming for a specific event, I’ll be more cautious so as not to wind up burnt at it.
