The 530 will record the HR from whatever it is paired to (e.g…, Polar strap). If it is recording HR from your 955, then you need to turn off the ANT+ HR broadcast on the 955. Alternatively, you should remove the 955 pairing from the 530. I never paired my 955 w/my 530 because if on the bike, I’m always wearing a HR strap.
edit: I dual record in case of an issue, but I always discard the 955 bike activity vs saving it.
The 955 & 530 are recording HR from separate sources, with the 955 passively measuring HR in the background via the optical sensor, and the 530 recording the actual TR activity and is paired to the H10.
The 530 is recording accurate data directly from the H10.
However, when the HR data for the day is presented in the Garmin Connect Daily Summary HR chart, it shows the 955’s data for the period of the activity, not the 530 HR data recorded in the activity file .
Max today was 120 today per the 955 and 161 per the H10/530.
I suppose the answer is to record the activity on the 955 paired to the H10 if i want the chart to be a better reflection of HR for the day, as it seems 955 trumps 530 in the Daily Summary chart.
That’s odd. I don’t recall ever seeing that. I haven’t ridden outdoors in a while w/the 530 using only my 955 for everything. Perhaps the latest changes w/ Primary Wearable and Primary Training device designations is the cause of your issues. Garmin documentation might have a clear explanation or if we’re lucky @dcrainmaker might chime in w/an answer.
My Forerunner 955 is now showing predicted 5K times instead of FTP as w/kg. I didn’t (intentionally) change this. Has anyone run into this and have ideas how to revert back to FTP?
I believe Garmin just had an update. I have the 955 and the 1040. My 955 watch has both activities run/cycle and displays each. It appears that yours just has run. It may be as simple as adding cycle back via the Garmin Connect app. Some of my other settings changed, but it was easily fixed.
