Hell yes! I’ve been waiting to upgrade my 520 for so long now.
Just a note, last week when Garmin was supposed to release their new Forerunner watches on 6/1, they actually got dropped the night before around 8-9pm EST on the website. I don’t see anything at the moment.
That’s a photo of the 1040 solar isn’t it? so we may still have a while to wait for an 840
Will be interesting if the time gap from 1040 to 5/840 is the same as the 1030 to 5/830. If there is a gap will the 5/840 have better hardware like before?

So it does look like today’s the day for the 1040 / solar.
I’m a bit torn, would ideally see what/when the 840 is, but I might just go for a 1040 because although I find the size a bit clunky, my eyes aren’t going to get any younger…
It’s working now. Solar says available to ship in 1-3 days. Regular unit say 5-8 weeks!

OK, I’ve ordered one! Also don’t love the silver, but am not paying £100 for colour, and don’t need more than 35 hours of battery life!

I saw somewhere else the solar has bigger internal memory (64GB vs 32GB) and comes with a silicon case. But I agree I don’t think it’s worth the premium.
I ordered both. I’ll keep whichever arrives first. The waiting times are a bit ridiculous tbh. Was hoping to get one before my big ride this sunday lol

Have you tried buying local? We have shops that had them in hand a few days ago.
I’m underwhelmed. I was really hoping for a better screen and the removal of the 2010 era bevel. But from the leaks, I’m not surprised. It feels like Garmin is coasting off of its market leading position, and not really innovating in the cycling space anymore.
