Favero now sells replacement pedal bodies for those of us who were unlucky enough to get the old model with the pedal body with the silver spring. After suffering for over a year and falling a couple times (never happened on any other pedals), I finally decided I needed to fix this problem. But, paying $130 for replacement bodies from Favero seemed ridiculous. I purchased Xpedo Thrust 7s (in red
) on eBay for $50 and transferred the pedal bodies from those. I followed instructions made by folks who are converting the Assiomas from road to mountain pedals. Took me about 45 minutes because I’m not great with tools. Power tracks perfectly with my Wahoo kickr and tension is perfect now. What a relief!

That looks awesome, might go this route as well, thanks for sharing!
Aren’t Speedplays very easy to clip in/out? I do have Speedplays and didn’t have any problems with them. However, I have Look S-Track pedals on my old bike and I am scared to clip in. Did have a couple of tumbles with them. I am planning on buying Assiomas so I hope they will be more like Speedplays!

I’ve never ridden Speedplays but my Assiosmas with black springs using Wellgo 0° float cleats are quite a bit easier to clip out of than my 6800 Ultra SPL-SL pedals using 0° cleats. I actually have the tension cranked up a bit which for me is surprising since I always had the Shimano pedals as slack as they would go.

Thanks, should be ok then.
Speed plays are easy in the sense that they are two sided although for me I didn’t always get a solid engagement.
Regardless, I love my Assiomas!
