Yes, you can tell it to act like a drill instructor and it get a bit more in your face. Overall, its More entertaining that helpful. The AI seems pretty not intelligent, maybe in a year it will be good, but right now just a novelty me thinks.
I did not know that. I had the impression Coach Cat would automatically generate a workout for you.
He definitely can. You can ask him for a workout and Coach Cat will describe the effort and then ask you if you want to put it on your calendar. If you say yes, it will get put on your calendar.
Definitely not the workout I would expect if I asked for a SS workout.
Granted, that was a pretty generic request though. Can you say “give me a 90 minute sweet spot workout with no intervals above SS” or something like that and get a workout that’s ONLY SS?
I always find generated workouts skew one of two ways… boring or absurd…

Seems right on the money here. I suspect it has no concept of where you are in your SS training and has no idea how long of an interval you have done/can do, so it spat out exactly what you asked for. An improvement would be analyzing your data to figure out where you sit in your SS progression, but as far as SS workouts go … they are by design bland Find a power range you can hold for a long quantity of time. Take a break, then do it again. Progress to longer intervals. Not much more to it.

Hey all - sorry to bump such an old post, but have run into a problem that might impact others. A few years ago, I purchased the “16 Weeks of Sweet Spot” plan from FasCat on Training Peaks. That plan has been in my TP account every since and I’ve been able to use it whenever I want. I recently noticed it was missing from my TP plans. I reached out to TP who told me to reach out to FasCat. It turns out that they recently removed the TP plan because they updated the plans in Coach Cat. I’m in the process of trying to get them to return the plan I paid for to my account. You might want to check and see if your FasCat TP plans are missing from your library too.
Edit: they were super helpful and restored the plan to my TP account, so if yours is missing, just reach out.
They did the same to me with several of the plans that I’d bought from them. They did return them once I’d contacted them about this, but I still think it’s a bit iffy of them to do it in the first place. I downloaded the workouts and built them in Intervals.icu as plans, so they couldn’t do it again to me in the future.
I agree that they shouldn’t do it, but once you’ve applied the plan, it stays in TP, so you could copy and paste. You can apply it any date in the past/future too. I’ve done this previously to lay out a year without it interfering in my current training.
That might work if you didn’t make a single change to the plan for the entire 16 weeks. Me, I usually tend to end up on vacation or something, or heavily modifying the plan to incorporate other riding, and ultimately end up deleting the plan off my calendar and starting over at some point, which requires a fresh install of the whole plan each time.
Went to check their forum and see if this was happening with more people but it just gives me an error when trying to access any topics. Wonder what’s going on with them.
This is just a guess, I never asked, but I think they deleted (or locked us out of) the forum when they switched up their business model to focus on CoachCat. I recently tried to do a free trial, but you can’t use CoachCat during the trial, and every question I googled led me to a dead forum link. You can message support from the app during the trial though, and they are quick to respond.
They removed all of their Forum posts and information when CoachCat went live. It’s a real shame as there was a lot of good information on it. All of their Blog posts are also gone. Seems they wanted everyone to swap over to the monthly/yearly paid for CoachCat.
I bought their 10 week Resistance plan on TP, just going into the final 3 week Power phase and I noticed that the spreadsheet they supply that tells you the stages and reps / weights for this phase is missing, I emailed Fascat to ask if they could just tell me what the % of 1RM each 6 stages is and ill update the spreadsheet myself they said no, ask Training Peaks for a refund and subscribe to fastcat.
I think you get a free 30-day trial with Coach Cat, so you could sign up, find the plan in the app and get the info you need.
I think I have the same plan, so I could also get that info for you, though, I should see if my plans are now missing.

So maybe im wrong actually, thanks DMC is it the same workout 6 times for Power Phase. Not getting progressively harder each time like earlier phases do.

But I believe the power workouts are jump squat, leg press, and leg curl. they do get harder, but less reps focusing on speed. I’m about to start the plan on Monday.
Thanks just replied, yes me being a bit dense, it’s a great plan. During week 1 I was sore as hell just through squatting a 25kg bar, by week 3 hurt my back doing the 1RM but cautiously pushed through and now doing 1RM of 95 kg.
