Failing 90 min Threshold workouts

Hi all,

A bit late, but following up on the topic: after failing Hakusan, I prepped for this type of workout (mixed intervals) properly, meaning a few days of rest, food, sleep. This led me to completing Thunder Hawk, although with easier rests than intended. On the following week, I absolutely nailed Bear Head, so at the end, in my case, it was really about getting used to the type of work and respecting the workout in terms of off the bike preparation.

That’s great! I don’t do inside intervals at/over threshold as often as I should, so when I start a block that has them, it takes a couple shakeout workouts to build up to the power and cadence required, to remind my legs and brain what it feels like and where I should start with power, cadence, and interval length.
