Meh - it is still the same button in the same place…
I would like to be able to use the TR app as a recorder only in some cases (Zwift races basically) - and there seems to be no way to make the TR app do record only, it always has some control of the trainer even if you put it into Free Ride workout as you have to choose between Erg, Resistance and Standard mode, there’s no equivalent of that button in Zwift. I thought leaving it in Erg mode might work as there’s no power target in Free Ride, but then it tries to switch itself to Resistance mode I think and fights against Zwift.
Do you have a secondary power meter on your bike, by chance? If you do, you can run TR essentially in “record” mode… you just need to unpair/forget the trainer in the Devices screen in TR.
I do this from time to time for endurance workouts when I want to ride in sim mode in Z to get access to terrain changes (allowing the trainer as controllable and power in Z) while having TR record the power from my secondary PM (pedals in my case).
I think exporting TR workouts in .zwo format is explicitly against the TR terms of service. At least it was back in 2018/2019. I actually found .zwo versions of all the popular canned TR workouts, but I don’t cheat or steal so… I live without.
Ok thanks. That will probably explain why there aren’t really any changes to my schedule as all my TR workouts are “Matched” to what is scheduled. Will go back to just ipad and trainer road.
I just dual-run TR and Zwift. Give TR control of the trainer.
I believe this is intended to be resolved come Jan though as many other providers have already got sync working on and per DC Rainmaker I think TR is saying January.
