Hello, My ERG mode turns off, for example, my trainer then switches back to automatic mode for no reason, as you can see during certain intervals. The power drops suddenly, and you have to react quickly, otherwise it’s complicated. Are you also experiencing this kind of problem? I don’t understand why the ERG mode turns off like that. Is this done deliberately by TR? I ride on Zwift via TR training.
Since it is showing elevation and you were doing this in zwift, but the green lines don’t match the elevation was the trainer possibly paired to both zwift and TR and couldn’t figure out what it needed to be controlled by? I don’t use zwift but that is what my interpretation of the ride screenshot would be.
To explain in more detail. On the first sets after the 80W rest phases, the trainer automatically increased the resistance to 200W. On the second set, at first, the resistance didn’t increase enough even though I was using the same gear ratio as before. I felt like I was pedaling in a vacuum and had to shift up a few gears. On the third set, I had the same problem, and without shifting to the largest chainring, I couldn’t reach the resistance… On 4th and 5th gears, the erg mode worked normally.
Another example. Yesterday I encountered the same problem. It started off well, then suddenly, during certain intervals, the resistance drops all of a sudden on its own, and I have to switch my large chainring to manual to maintain my watts. You can see the oscillations. I don’t know if it’s related to the VO2 max exercises that do this? But I don’t understand. I sometimes have the impression that it stops randomly. But at the next interval (attack), it works again and correctly forces me to peak power.
.I use TR programs on Zwift but during exercises only Zwift is connected to my home trainer. TR and anything that can interfere is stopped.
Hey @Guillaume ![]()
If you are completing the TR Workouts in Zwift, what’s controlling the trainer is the Zwift app, so in this case the TR app has nothing to do with how the trainer interacts.
Zwift behaves a bit differently in ERG Mode, but I think you may be experiencing connectivity drops from what you are describing.
If you experience a dropout, you can try adjusting the intensity +/- and then returning to 100% to reestablish ERG mode.
That said, it may be a good idea to contact Zwift Support, as they can see the ride log data and tell you what may be amiss.
Here are also good TB steps to check for connectivity interruptions:
Also, I just wanted to say I am flattered you did the Villafane workout! haha.
