can anyone help with a query regarding these. when i set the trainer to use the turbo in erg , i feel im spinning nearly faster than the turbo can go to try and get the power in just doesn’t feel right , but the stats it gives me after roughly match my outdoor speed and distance. when i use the resistance or standard setting , it feels more realistic with my normal cadence but the stats it gives after like avg k/ph and distance are way below what i would expect to achieve irl.
Check out the support article below. The trainer’s flywheel speed will be determined by your gearing and cadence. Trainers generally behave best when using the little chain ring up front. Also, the distance reported comes from the trainer (not TrainerRoad) and is based on flywheel speed - you can ignore it.
Related to speed and distance.
And perhaps the most important bit is YOU control the spin in ERG. You can spin at whatever speed you want. The MOST important thing is to keep that cadence steady. What you are experiencing is you are basically half-wheeling yourself. Try picking a number you like, 80, 90, 100, and seeing how close you can to matching that for an extended period. You will eventually get used to the fact that you control the cadence in erg.
