TREK’s answer to this question is that disc brakes sold more when they ran them both in parallel. Rather than produce a lower ratio of rim brake it seems they just focused all their energy on disc.

Test rode the SL5. Beautiful bike but it felt sluggish because it’s so heavy! I think i prefer the TCR over this.

The SL5 felt sluggish, because the wheels are boat anchors and the tires don’t do it any favours. The frame is definitely not sluggish when kitted out properly.

HOw do you like your SL7? What components did you get on yours?
