Dynamic Endurance question

I’m trying to use this new feature to build to 4-5 hour endurance rides however having issues that i hope are solvable

when i turn on the feature, it does add the building length up to the goal time. The issue i have is that it slots the long rides during the work (thursday in my case). Due to career constraints, i have a 1.5-2 hour window during the week

When i try to shift to a weekend, the AI downgrades the intensity on threshold days to a minimal level and FTP progression slows

What am I doing wrong or is it not possible given my schedule?

FYI I am a 57 year old experienced cyclist

thanks

Greg

It’s just telling you that based on what it knows about you right now, going out and doing a 4-5 hour ride at the weekend is going to impact the quality of your threshold workouts midweek. If you demonstrate this to not be the case then it will adapt. I.e. If you go do that long ride, your data and survey response show it hasn’t buried you, and then you nail your next intensity session then the AI should pick up on that and start stretching you more. Of course it’s also possible that it’s correct and that doing those long rides is going to make it hard to progress your threshold workouts.

I had the same issue. You have to move the days each ride is assigned around, so that the system thinks you’re both not too fatigued going into the long ride, and not too fatigued after so that you both get the long ride, and get the next workout to actually happen. You can do this either via the plan builder schedule, or simply by dragging a ride to the next/prior day on the calendar to see how it responds.

I found as I’m building TSS after a break, if I want to have a long ride on my calendar it needs a day before and after, otherwise it negatively impacts the neighboring rides. I’d assume this would be different for riders with higher established volumes.
