Hi, I have been using a TR for a while and usually ignore the wheel circumference setting.
I have 700x32c wheels connected to a dumb trainer with a crank-based power meter.
Should I ignore the wheel circumference or change it to match my current tire size?
Thanks!
Not important at all for training as the power reported by your crank based PM will be completely uneffected.
The only thing it will affect is the speed/distance reading from the trainer. Depending on how important the accuracy of that is then you could adjust the wheel circumference - although that data is always going to be of questionable use as it doesnt account for whatever gear your bike is in - so is never going to be a “real” distance.
Also, If exporting to Strava, then TrainerRoad provides the ability to replace the trainer reported value with a more realistic number based on power output anyway.
