Over the winter I partake in a local Zwift racing league which usually amounts to a couple of races each week, but like to train around them as well.
I’ve put these in to my calendar as repeating weekly events with rough estimated TSS.
Does TrainNow know to look forward to a race / high TSS event which is in 1 or 2 days and know not to schedule something which is particularly high load or is it only looking back at recent events to create it’s recommendation?
I have a crit this evening which is on calendar but it’s suggesting quite a heavy workout if I was to choose to do one, hence my question!
TrainNow doesn’t look forward to what workouts/events you have coming up – it only looks back at what you’ve done recently to suggest a workout for today.
It may be better to use Plan Builder for structuring a plan around recurring events.
You can enter them as C events and that will work as well! There just won’t be a taper applied to them as they’ll be seen as training races/events building towards a bigger goal.
A races have a full 2-week taper built into your plan, and B races have the option to have a shorter taper applied to them.
