Do E-MTB rides with heart rate only falsify adaptive training / AI FTP detection?

Hey there,

do E-MTB rides with only heart rate data falsify adaptive training / RL/GR / AI FTP detection in any way?

The thing is that I live in a very hilly area and suffered from nasty knee pain the past three years which forced me to stay away from the road bike. I’m close to being able to return to structured road bike training again, but the E-MTB became a useful training tool because if my knees start to ache on steep hills, I can just turn up the assistance. It also got a built-in power meter so I can target specific power zones when riding, or just enjoy rest days by staying in Z1 albeit the hilly terrain. This power data can’t be exported to TrainerRoad, though!

On the road bike I am of course using power meter pedals and a smart trainer for indoor / outdoor structured training. Thus I’m afraid the E-MTB rides in my calendar cause TrainerRoad to believe I’m fitter than I actually am and thus compromise my road bike training by messing up RL/GR, AI FTP detection and adaptive training etc.

Thanks for the input!
