Deals / Sales / Discounts for Cycling "Stuff" (2023)

That seems like a solid deal on a Direto XR for my fellow Canadians (CAD 649):

I have this and it’s “fine”, especially for that price.

I seem to have to weigh in twice for it to connect to the app via bluetooth which is a minor annoyance but still an annoyance. Would be nice if the app would sync with something other than Google Fit but I’m guessing Garmin isn’t helping because they have a competing product.

There are some screaming deals at mybikeshop right now. Jet RC4 rim brake set was showing for $675.

Sunrise Tri is apparently closing out their store.

More of case of it’s a deal if you can find it. I’ve long enjoyed the Aussie Bites you can get at US Costco – sorry to our Australian friends, but that’s the product name and I can’t speak to whether it is “traditional” as it claims to be.

We also have a Business Costco in our area, which offers a different shopping experience, as it’s more targeted to, well, businesses. I was just there recently and stumbled across packs of individually wrapped Aussie Bites. The “consumer” version has no individual wrapping – they last OK in the fridge, but dry out after about a week. The individually wrapped ones are good for another 10 months.

Cost wise, they work out to be about $0.50 each. Two of them make a decent mid ride snack, so a buck for a snack seems like a deal to me. So, if you have a Business Costco in your area, you may be able to find them.

If we’re talking Costco, it’s hard to beat the Rice Krispie treats. $13.29 for 60 works out to be $0.2215 per treat. You can splurge and get the variety pack for $13.99 for $0.2332 per treat.

Can confirm Aussie Bites are tasty; will look for individually packed version at our local Business Costco.

On the Costco tip, these are a fraction of the price of the sport branded stroopwaffles and basically the same thing. I think my wife paid $7 for a box of 40.

Those are good. I also like Welsh’s fruit snacks from costco… 17g of carbs per package and doesn’t take up much stomach space. :+1:

Do you use this pre ride or during rides?

I’ve been eating waffles as pre workout breakfast and I feel they work better than regular bread…

I’ve never used those waffles for riding, but have used both Untapped and Honey Stingers on the bike.

Those in the link have a caramel inside (I’ve had them on United flights), so I do wonder if they might be sticky on the bike.

So… that YT Izzo Uncaged for $5k… It comes with full XX1 AXS (including AXS seatpost), DT Swiss XRC1200 wheels, and SID Ultimate suspension.

That’s a damn impressive build spec… I’d wager retail for the components is darn near $9k.

Kinda crazy with that build, the bike itself is still around 26 pounds.

Just got this in my email. I wonder if that means the aggressive sales are over for SIS?
