Based on your suggestion I just ordered a pair of summit strike bibs… Thanks!
I bought the Summit Stratos 12-hour bibs on the sale and the area around the butt was as thin and transparent as worn out bibs. I ended up sending them back. The chamois seemed nice, but the seams weren’t sewn flat or very neatly so they seemed very “stabby”. I would expect more attention to detail on higher end bibs.
I did pick up some Rapha Pro bibs from their current Archive sale, I hope they will be better quality. $108 was hard to pass up.
Gone already. Now 220 €.
Don’t know if it falls into this category, but I have codes for LeCol free winter gloves and for SIS free extra gel pack if anyone’s going to order from them
Just saw a price drop for their website for look version. It’s now 550 for Duo like Shi.
The American resellers are still selling for 750.
Thought Of sharing if one is interested to buy a pedal based power meter.
UNO at $337 is also solid.
I’m still on the old bePRO… am tempted by Assiomas but can’t help thinking that a successor might be along soon…
Even if it comes this one is solid gold and you will get the firmware updates anyway.
Maybe moved to deal thread?
Cheers for the heads up - just ordered the UNO to complement my current DUOs.
I’m going to do some swapping around to hopefully end up with a pair of DUOs with brand new pedal bodies and an UNO gravel hack/conversion
I don’t need to upgrade to the DUO… I really don’t…
I am considering that, but this is more of a long term price change vs a sale that is the focus of that other thread.
Its a black Friday discount - just had the marketing email through from Favero.
Sure enough. I got a similar email now that I look there too. When I did a pure web search, it shows as a regular price with no apparent discount, odd.
Backcountry has a 20% off a single item.
That seems to not apply to anything. Ugh
Yes, it is the worst. Every time they run that, it feels like a scam.
Maybe it’s a problem with the loyalty program itself
I’ve been using cc for years. Their service has gone way down. Used to provide vAlue with their personal sales reps. Used to be flexible on price and shipping. Used to have good, targeted emails. Now all that is junk.
Part of the issue is they don’t disclose excluded brands or items fully. So you have to guess. And I am sure it is part of them carrying specialized and other non-discounting brands.
I loved using Competitive Cyclist when SteepandCheap, Whiskey Militia, and HucknRoll were still a thing, but the deals have gotten way worse. I used those deal sites to get all my beginner apparel (shoes, shorts, a couple jerseys, gloves, etc.) for a low cost of entry to the sport, but nowadays similar level stuff on their site would be 50-100% more expensive. With the 20% coupon being so hit or miss, that site is a last resort for me.
If you do want to shop some occasional deals from Backcountry though, I recommend you look at their returned items on geartrade.com. I was able to land a Reynolds ATRX wheelset with XDR hub this summer for $900, and they appeared be a shelf model with no signs of ever being mounted.
