Gripper Arm style - they are all pretty much the same.
Fork Mount/BB holder style - spend the extra money on the fancy one. The Tacx one I have is too jiggly and the latches, which you end up using a lot more, break.
I’d say get a Feedback portable tripod arm style. When deployed, it takes up a small footprint.
I bought it last week after the double discount bug was fixed. (ie at the beginning of the semi-annual sale, VIP20 could work on the discounted H3, and gave $600 or $640 for the H3)
I also tried some other 10%off coupons but I have no luck to get further discount. In other word, I paid $750 in total. If you can get it below $750, I’ll recommend you to go for it.
Looks like the $577 deal on Assiomas is gone, I should have ordered last night. Clever was unable to match the price because they order a ton at a time and get hit with duties that an individual customer may not, but I was just going to order a set from Favero and return those so they had a new set to go back into stock. They sent me a shipping label this morning, I go back on Favero site, and they’re back at $628. Will be checking like a hawk while I have this return authorization open.
For anyone who hasn’t purchased an H3 yet, you can use the code MISSYOU15 and get an extra 15% off the $799 (so it goes down to $680). I found the coupon code after some serious google searching.
The only thing holding me back is that I live in Ontario (Canada) and would have to pay NY state taxes to ship to NY and then duties on top of that, essentially wiping out all discounts.
Looking to get a nM torque wrench kit, I saw one came recommended by GPLama I believe, but was also $80. Anyone have any other suggestions for a good one that’s less expensive, preferrably as a kit with various bits included?
Someone had posted a review saying you need to “shake” the unit to spread the internal oil around for it to be accurate, have you noticed anything like this?
I haven’t, I just keep it in the case and release the tension every-time before I put it away. I can’t speak to if it’s “perfectly accurate” but I haven’t stripped any bolts or had anything come apart on me on a ride, so I’ll call it a win.
I too have a Venzo torque wrench. It’s fantastic. Solid. Compact. Excellent to use.
Cosmetically, the model I have is slightly different than this one and it supports incremental settings to the decimal in between whole numbers (ex, 4.5). My only issue with the wrench is the small type used to identify the setting. Depending upon the lighting, sometimes I find it a bit difficult to read.
My H3 from clevertraining that I ordered with the stacked discounts on Nov 21st just shipped! I’ll be interested to see if it has a scuffed pulley or not. Looking forward to giving it a try.
I ordered on the 24th and just received the shipment notification.
Just checked with Fedex, It would arrive on Dec. 11. It seems the H3 is directly from the warehouse of CleverTraining. Hopefully it’s a new batch without any issue.
