No idea why it’s already 25% off. It’s only been out for a few months. I’d say it’s a solid deal!
I have the standard (non-solar) black Forerunner 955 and love it.

In the spirit of the other thread being sad about exchange rates, it’s still $780 on Amazon.ca ![]()
For the European customers: Shimano rc902 182€, still some sizes left at r2-bike.com.

A “free” WHOOP you say?
I still haven’t decided if their subscription hardware model is genius or trash.
Take that back, unless they significantly ramp up their data insights and features, don’t see how it’s going to work out for them long-term.
selling a $300 device that is useless unless you subscribe to a monthly service is a trash program.
Add in data of questionable value and it is pretty easy to forget it as a viable training tool.
Same for Oura and others.
@Power13 @koalb i was skeptical at first, especially with any training tool that has a monthly fee. I think for me it really gives me an indication of how hard I can push that day with training and not going into the red. I’ve seen when my recovery is low i am better off with z2 roads vs doing SS or VO2 workouts. Also helps me keep track of my sleep and work toward making my patterns better and more regular.
I’ve used both extensively……I have had days when they say I need rest and I crush it and vice versa.
Last year I was really sick for about 4 days ( not COVID but similar in symptoms). Couldn’t get out of bed practically….my Oura said I was primed for peak performance.
Regardless of the data, the business model is flawed, IMO. If you spend $300+ on a device, you shouldn’t then have to pay a monthly subscription fee to use it.
But we are getting off-thread here. There are threads for both devices here…I’m more than happy to discuss over in them.
Might be related to launch of new Apple Watch.
Prior user of Whoop but much prefer spending a bit more for a Garmin Epix watch and using that instead without having to worry about a monthly subscription. As per prior posts, a lot of deals on Garmin watches popping up.
Last year’s Bioracer RR and TT suits are on sale for ~$120 USD shipped. Little bit hidden on their website, but if you click around you can find it. Great deal for very fast kit. I’ve got a Velotec suit so curious how this compares.
I have a TiVo HD with life time subscription in a box…somewhere.
Sure. But how many TiVo users are left in the world? Idk how they stay in business
They aren’t, they went bust and got bought by an IP holding company call Xperi. The physical product doesn’t exist anymore.
https://www.tivo.com/products/edge-cable
Their website still shows some physical products being sold
Afaik they have a few things… But it was not what it was back just 10 years ago… Point was that you would pay for hardware and pay them fees for the rest of time…or pay a ton of money for lifetime subscription…
Not to get too nit picky - but isn’t Whoop’s model that the hardware is ‘free’ with subscription? So there isn’t the $300 + subscription, only the subscription
the prices:
360 for a year (monthly payments)
300 pre paid year
480 for 2 years…
not horrible
