I have an A race scheduled for next weekend, and I’ve been following the suggested workouts up to today without any issues. Today, my new FTP was detected and I completed the prescribed workout. However, after the FTP update, I was unable to view the next recommended workouts — the app displayed “data needed.”
At the same time, it showed that I was supposed to complete a 5-hour ride tomorrow, along with three additional workouts during the week (two 45-minute hard sessions and one 45-minute session the day before the race). When I tried to select these workouts, I was prompted again to detect my FTP, and once more it displayed “data needed.”
Eventually, I edited my training plan manually, which resulted in a completely different schedule — four 30-minute workouts leading up to the race.
This has left me confused about which recommendations and data are correct.
