Damn, what a year to start road racing. Got one race in. Had 12 others lined up. Come on CX season, don’t fail me now!
Looks like every USAC National Championship thru July has been postponed.

Tulsa Tough cancelled for 2020. Hopefully cx will still be on.
Yeah, this made for pretty depressing reading…
Well, I now get to join the “cancelled A event” club, as the Tour de Millersburg is off.
No word yet on Rasputitsa (rescheduled) or unPAved, but I have a hard time imagining at this point that Rasputitsa will actually be able to run in July without a revolt.
you got to race?
Yea, got lucky. End of February was our local series’ first and only race.
Mohican 100 MTB scheduled May 31 is not cancelled yet, the most recent announcement from race organizors being April 19. Ohio’s governor was comparatively early in imposing restrictions and have given some indication they will be lifted soon. But who knows for sure. I am just a recovering fat guy / workaholic who entered before any of this stuff happened just to try and finish. The uncertainty is killing me. If it is canceled I will be in better shape next year.
One of the local race organizers in my area posted this survey:
Looks like they’re trying to get the sense of how everyone is feeling about racing for this year.
Thanks for sharing this! Do you mind sharing where you’re located? Also, do you think this is for all types of racing (dirt and road)? I wonder if USAC will provide any guidance for USAC-certified races. The county health department had provided some guidance for one of our local races before it got cancelled, so I wonder if that would also come into play in the future.
Recent relevant reddit post, not sure if verified:
Canadian Cycling Announced this;
DOMESTIC CALENDAR UPDATE – JUNE EVENTS
Ottawa, ON (April 27, 2020) – In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Cycling Canada is extending the list of cancelled or postponed events to include everything originally scheduled on or before July 6 . Our next recommendation concerning events scheduled beyond July 6th will be published on May 25th.
While there are signs of improvement in the pandemic across the country, Cycling Canada continues to support the efforts of public health authorities to minimize the transmission of the virus. That includes travel and social distancing restrictions.
This announcement directly affects both of the 2020 Canadian Road Championships, which were scheduled to take place in Quebec from June 26 to 29 and July 2 to July 5 respectively. Last week, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced that the new dates for nations to organize Elite Road Championships are August 22-23, and Cycling Canada has been working with the organizers, the Quebec Cycling Federation and health authorities to determine whether these dates are feasible. As per the Canadian Masters Road Championships, discussions between Cycling Canada and the Appalachian Classic organizing committee are ongoing and a specific announcement will be made in the coming days regarding the status of this event moving forward.
Also of note with regards to this announcement are the Canadian XCO Mountain Bike Championships. Although this event is scheduled to occur after July 6th, the organizing committee, in close cooperation with Cycling Canada, has decided to postpone the event until further notice. More information regarding anticipated rescheduling of this event will be made public as it becomes available, in line with public health recommendations.
For an up-to-date list of cancelled or postponed events on the national calendar, please consult the event list on the Cycling Canada website. The list will be updated daily to ensure our members and stakeholders have access to the most current information. We are working with our organizers to reschedule events where possible while following restrictions and guidelines in place by the various health authorities
Cycling Canada is also working with the provincial and territorial cycling associations, supported by the guidance of health authorities, to support a progressive return to cycling activities when it is safe do to so. A more comprehensive communication will be developed and communicated to the cycling community in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please refer to the COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions on our website.
Cycling Canada continues to closely monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and remains in contact with the Public Health Agency of Canada and various cycling organizations around the world. We will continue to communicate any changes to all stakeholders.
And then provinces started really getting aggressive with ABA and BC doing this;
As many of you have seen, Cycling Canada has extended their postponement of the 2020 National Calendar until July 6th. https://www.cyclingcanada.ca/sport/covid-19/news/domestic-calendar-update-june-events/. Alberta Bicycle Association continues to support Cycling Canada, though we understand each province is a unique situation and so we have made the decision to postpone or cancel events that are scheduled during the period up until August 31st. Decisions to hold events earlier or later than this date will be made with consideration of the guidance issued by Alberta Health Services and provincial authorities.
This means that ABA clubs, athletes and members may not participate in any group gatherings, including outdoor group rides, until Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Government deem it safe to do so.
Clubs may continue to offer solo “competitions” in a safe and respectful manner to their members. If doing so, clubs must follow local regulations and adhere to any park or private land closures. We also encourage clubs to continue to work with members over online platforms.
n light of Cycling Canada’s most recent update and recommendations on domestic events, Cycling BC is also recommending that events scheduled up to and including July 6, 2020, be postponed or cancelled. Cycling Canada will be making another announcement on May 28th regarding events scheduled beyond this date.
Cycling BC will continue to follow the advice of the BC government health authorities and together with the guidance of Cycling Canada, Sport BC, and viaSport, will develop a plan for a progressive return to our sport as the province gradually loosens restrictions on activities. You can expect updates from Cycling BC as more information becomes available.
We are looking forward to resuming in-person activities when it is safe to do so. In the meantime, please continue to exercise behaviours to help limit the transmission of the virus such as riding indoors at home, or if you choose to ride outside, riding safely alone or only with members of your household.
Cycling BC commends our members and the general cycling sport community for your continued patience, determination, and commitment to sustaining our collective and individual efforts in minimizing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, particularly in BC.
We will continue to monitor the situation in our province and across the country very closely and communicate pertinent information to our community as it becomes available.
Stay safe. We will get through this together.

Yeah, I race in NY area
USAC had an officials call last week where this was discussed.
I think Charlie’s Zwift Series might be all we get this year…
As much as I enjoy them I hope you’re wrong
I’m considering this if it happens.
Mohican MTB100 and Mohican Trail Run Race Update: April 29, 2020
The following update has been sent via email to all Mohican 100 Mountain Bikers and Mohican Trail Runners.
This past Monday, Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine, announced that Ohio is planning to open up the state as scheduled in stages beginning on May 1. Ohio State Parks, including The Mohican State Park is still scheduled to reopen on May 15. We are not yet privy to the details. However, our permits are still valid at this time. You will be notified right away if there is any change.
Mohican 100 has submitted a mitigation plan to parks, forestry, and our partners at University Hospital. We want to keep everyone safe while riding or volunteering at this year’s events. Next Friday, we will meet again with University Hospital to discuss our mitigation plan and how they can assist. Once agreed by all parties, we will share this plan with you so there are no surprises.
Some International racers and racers from states that are still on lockdown have inquired about deferral to 2021. Entry will be deferred for racers who are blocked from attending due to border closures or state lockdown orders.
Many continue to email, text, and send face book messages requesting an assurance that the event is going to happen as scheduled. The first request was received two minutes after the Governors speech. Please know that we understand that you need that information for planning purposes. We are working with all associated parties and will share news with you as soon as we know for certain the race is ON.
There are currently no plans to postpone or cancel the Mohican MTB100 on May 30 or the Mohican Trail Run on June 20-21. There is no need to contact the race director or the registration director. You will not receive any special or exclusive information that hasn’t already been shared with everyone directly via email to all registered racers and on our Facebook page.
As soon as there is any new information, racers will be contacted directly via email and on the Mohican 100 FB page with the latest news and information. Ohio is beginning to open. It may not look exactly the same yet but we are working hard to make it happen so we can see everyone here soon. It’s exciting to see so much enthusiasm and now, momentum, for getting back to doing what we love.
Cheers,
Ryan O’Dell

Hmmm, I’m torn here. Mohican is/was my A-race this year. Not sure how responsible it is to go racing, even if “allowed.”
You couldn’t get me near a group ride anytime soon, let alone a race with hundreds of participants. People breathing hard, drooling , spitting, blowing snot rockets, etc. in races…factor in asymptomatic patients and it sounds like a wonderful transmission vector.
I have pretty much told all my riding buddies I will see them next year…
I entered. I will do it if they have it. Not going to lie, working all day in my house by the fridge has not helped my readiness.
