DK just sent out an email and they will confirm by the 1st of May. As of now, dirty kanza is happening this year.
Rattler is officially postponed to October.
Redbud Ride in London, KY has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date in 2020. Organizers are giving the participants who are unable to attend the ride on the new date the option to apply their registration fee to next years ride. Nice to have that option offered!
My first race in my XC series has been cancelled and it’s 5 weeks away…
Participants, Spectators, Sponsors and Volunteers,
The Yankee Springs Time Trial Committee wants to assure you that we are closely monitoring the evolving situation regarding the Covid-19 virus and the impact on our nation. The health, safety and well-being of our community is our top priority.
As more and more restrictions on large gatherings are put into place, it has become apparent that we will not be able to hold the race on April 25th. As with many of the other spring races, we are looking into rescheduling to a later date. Our largest challenge is the use of the DNR campground, which typically needs to be reserved nearly a year in advance. Committee members are actively engaging with the DNR to determine if a new date is possible. As soon as we know more, we will make a formal announcement.
In the event of a cancellation, our official policy is no refunds or deferrals. The Yankee Springs Time Trial is an all-volunteer run event that supports the WMMBA, which is a non-profit organization. We simply do not have the capacity to absorb the expenses already incurred for the race along with refunding participants. As always, all proceeds from the race would go directly towards maintaining and building the many wonderful trails in West Michigan. In lieu of the registration fee, each participant would receive credit for a one-year WMMBA membership along with the benefits that it offers. All merchandise orders would be honored in full. Pickup days for merchandise would be announced and we would mail merchandise to those who are out of the area.
In these unprecedented times we draw strength in seeing our community come
together to support each other. Stay safe and healthy, help those in need, and
enjoying the trails.

The Austin Rattler (about an hour outside Austin, TX) the first Leadville qualifier of the year, was postponed until October. Too bad I’m moving and won’t be able to make it now.
won’t likely matter now that head of japanese olympic committee is now sick, its only a matter of time until they delay olympics.
BWR e-mail just dropped and officially postponed to November 8th. Options to defer to the other new races or even race in 2021. Glad we have closure on that one and can adjust the plan.

Apologies if already posted - USAC email to promoters today:
Based on the current status of the national emergency, USA Cycling will extend its suspension of all issued permits for sanctioned events - including USA Cycling races, rides, camps, and clinics - through May 3, 2020. We will continue to work with our event directors on contingency plans and alternative dates for impacted events.

I was registered to do Hincapie FW. First, very bummed. But second, yeah, pretty crappy that they aren’t refunding. I’ve emailed twice but haven’t gotten any reply.
I haven’t signed up for my annual spin around Lake Tahoe (America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride) in June, but monitoring their website for any information. The organizer is in a wait-and-see frame of mind. I really don’t want to sign up yet if it’s going to be canceled and my state of mind for training is lacking enthusiasm. I’d prefer to know one way or the other.
We have local races also stating “We are planning to go ahead…” with events in late April, May and June. I see that as a bit optimistic (April in particular) and maybe blind to what is most likely headed this way. But perhaps I’m being too pessimist and in expecting no events until after August at the earliest?
I think any event organizer who is stating their event will go ahead is wishing on a star at this point. No matter how far out the event happens to be. Nobody knows if things are going to get worse (but the probable case) or better over the next couple of months, let alone >3 months out.
My only event is Levi’s Gran Fondo on 10/4, and I’m only giving that event a 50% chance of happening.
Since the organizer does the same event in September, my guess is they’ll skip the one in June. It’s a Team In Training event in June, but not September so it sucks in that regard.
FOLLOW UP on March 21:
Event postponed until September and “merged” with the September event. Glad I didn’t sign up early and have to wonder/worry about getting a refund.
in a recent email from them it appears they’re doing Zwift racing and in their email “A message from Rich Hincapie” they state the FW ride was postponed, IDK why it says cancelled on the website but they say postponed in an email.
Yep. My two spring races are gone, and now I’m questioning if CX season will run. Hoping, but not expecting.
Epic Rides temporarily closed registration for their remaining events this year.
Austin Rattler got moved back to Nov 7. Just saw a notification on Facebook.
USAC extended no racing permits until May 31. Expect they will extend in 30 day increments.
Lost & Found Gravel Grinder on June 6 is cancelled, with no refunds. SBTS also promotes Grinduro and Downieville… who knows if those registrants get their fees back.
Eroica California and Nova Eroica California back on the calendar for September 25-27:
And about that last paragraph… the other little secret is Sept/Oct is the time of year when the CA Central Coast can be hot hot hot if you get unlucky and its a day when the offshore winds change direction (same time of year when SoCal gets Santa Ana winds). Good news is I’ll have a solid 3 months of heat training by then.
