Compact/ portable Direct Drive Trainer (To replace a suito with problems)

I could be looking for a new trainer to replace my Suito. It seemed to be setting resistance below the TrainerRoad ERG target so I tried updating its firmware (203 is supposed to have better ERG reaction) it kept on timing out on the radio packet install, but turning it off and on again progressed it a little bit further each time. However when it got to 100% its hung so only the bluetooth light flashes. I’m trying as one guide on the Web says leaving it powered off for 45mins but if it doesn’t come back to life, I’ll probably be looking for something new. I’m in a small 1 bedroom house, so something as compact/ portable as the Suito is what I’d be after. Any ideas ?

The Rivo is the direct replacement for the Suito but the reviews arent great, I thinking the Avanti or pushing the boat out for the heavier Justo 2. Ive also been offered a Saris H3. Its power/ cadence is supposed to be off (it may have been fixed but I have a power meter anyway). It not apparently the easiest with through axles (but I’m QR). Its handle is best placed for portability. But its also got a reputation for one of the best ERG/ ride feel and the stability is considered good by some and bad by others (too rigid).

IDK. I have a Saris and wouldn’t really think of it as portable as it weighs so much. The power on mine has always been accurate. For cadence, it’s best to use an actual cadence sensor as trainers can only infer cadence from 2/rev pedaling torque pulses, which doesn’t always work. If you’re gonna use power match with a crank/spider/pedal pm, then none of that matters as the PM provides power and cadence, the trainer only needs to provide resistance. As for thru axles, it works like any other with adapters that change out. Take off the QR caps, put on the thru axle caps, and use the bike’s through axle.

Elite’s support managed to fix the software of the Suito but in the meantime I ordered the Avanti. I could cancel the Avanti but I’m kinda excited by it, which will leave me with two. I’ll maybe pass the Suito on to a club junior for free or find a corner for it to sit in as I’m not very good at selling stuff.
