I have a Garmin computer and a Wahoo computer. I use Garmin connect for a lot of training data but if I ride with the Wahoo computer Garmin connect won’t use that data to calculate anything. Seems like it should be easy enough to edit a fit file to make Garmin connect think it was recorded on a Garmin headunit but I’m stumped. I can see the different fileid’s using FIT File viewer and I can use FITedit to change that data but there’s no obvious or easy way to copy info from one fit file to the next in that program and changing what obviously seemed like it should work, did not work. Ideas?
Maybe use Training Peaks as a middleman?
Unfortunately you can’t strip the identifier. It actually has to have the Garmin identifiers.
Exciting every fit file recorded by your Wahoo is going to be way more work than it’s worth IMO.
Why not use a different app/website to analyze your data from both Garmin and Wahoo?
Intervals.icu is free and very capable, though has a learning curve. Basic info is free in Strava. Golden Cheetah is free but requires a PC/Mac.
Or if you really want to use Garmin Connect, replace the Wahoo with a Garmin?
I need to test all kinds of computers on a regular basis. As it is I just accept that sometimes Garmin connect won’t be totally accurate, it’s fine but if it was easy to fix I would. For example if you could copy and paste a section in Fitedit it would only take minutes. That’s why I’m asking.
Use the device changer tool at Fit File Tools. Then upload to Garmin Connect. I’ve done this to get rides recorded using a Wahoo Elemnt into Connect and it works perfectly.
