Yes, in the end he is just an employee unless he is an owner.
And yes, we are all fond of Chad and enjoyed his input on the podcast.

I liked Chad, seems like a nice guy. Seemed like he did a good job and knew his stuff. He’ll be missed.
It’s none of my business what happened that resulted in him not being at TR any longer (say this to yourselves a couple times before posting)
This is a terrible take. You have no idea what happened.
I worked with a great teacher in the past, they were fired for getting high at work while kids were around. The person was fired. The kids and other employees were not told why. Kids wanted to protest the firing but didn’t have all the info.
So people need to pump the breaks around here at bit and maybe wait until details come out.
Well said ![]()
Why? There’s no reason to expect any further details to come out.
TR decided to tell everyone what they decided to say, knowing literally everyone will want to know why.
TR did no such thing. They simply said he’s no longer at TR and it was not voluntary. While it makes everyone think the worst due to ambiguity, they did not attack Chad or in any way speak out against his previous work. Not knowing what precipitated, maybe his actions were well deserved of diminishing any previous contributions? Or maybe it was a disagreement.
Don’t need to know. And I’m not protesting anything other than acknowledging the contributions Chad brought to TR. And while my comment may seem harsh, I don’t believe it’s untrue.
In the start I thought they were pretty naive, but they kept plugging away and year by year he took their knowledge way forward. It was a great journey of exploration and it was fun to feel a part of that.
Glad to see a dedicated thread to Chad.
No matter what the reasoning behind his departure it’s a huge loss to TrainerRoad and fans of the podcast.
Im a dedicated podcast listener and I’m not sure where the podcast goes from here, it’s been lacking for a while. Lots of hot takes and the same guests returning and talking about themselves again, all top athletes but it gets boring.
I’ve really enjoyed the insite and knowledge provided by Chad and Amber. They really prepared themselves well and provided fantastic content.
Speaking from my soul, thanks brother.
You taking a small part of what I said defeats the purpose of everything I said. More info might not come out but the people crying about how one person made the company, wanting to cancel memberships, etc. are misguided. We don’t know the story. People get fired for doing stupid and terrible things all the time. I’m saying people should pump the brakes rather than spewing nonsense online only to find out later something egregious was done and being fired was warranted. Not saying that’s the case but stuff like this happens and people look foolish having supported someone before knowing all the facts.
@ambermalika is starting her own podcast. Maybe she will have Chad on as a guest??

I doubt it (read: I don’t believe it), but maybe this is an elaborate hoax to see how people respond.
But I agreed with the rest of what you said ![]()
It wasn’t a character assassination, it was tackling the part that I felt needed tackling.
That’d be great if it materialised. Looking forward to giving that a listen anyway ![]()
Can someone from TR please chime in with some sort of info. We understand if there are legal issues and disclosure issues, but there is a lot of love out here for Chad, and for all the folks at TR. The podcast has really made it feel like a family so some sort of closure for the community would be really appreciated. @Nate_Pearson or @Jonathan, we love you but please speak up. Thanks in advance!
Yeah, this would make some things a little easier to square. I’ll stick with this one until/unless more details come out.
I’m glad you weren’t fired from a volunteer position. But being down one Chad still feels unstable.
Been reading these speculative and angry responses with amusement the past day or so…
Going to avoid speculating on something we’ll likely never know the detailed truth of, and frankly - that’s ok with me - its none of my business.
While I enjoyed his contributions to the podcast and will miss his presence there moving forward I guess I’m not as emotionally invested in the company and its employees/owners as many others - so for me this isn’t a personal issue
I wish all those involved the best and look forward to whatever is next for all of them
I just listed to the podcast announcement.
In my profession I am regularly involved in both employment terminations and counseling on what to say and what not to say afterwards. This short statement was definitely on the very brutal end of how announcements are made. Whatever happened, Nate is clearly really pissed off!
