Canyon lux World Cup size help!

I’m looking at a canyon World Cup Lux and it’s saying size small.
I currently have a trek supercailber in M/L
173 cm tall.

Anyone got any experience with this?

If you know anyone with a Canyon, or there’s a demo in your area, I’d give that a shot. Their size-finder consistently says I need a small, but I am most definitely a medium in their bikes. (178 cm, but long femurs). And I think Canyon still offers the 30-day return policy.

The stock is low so I’m pushed for time.
I’d love to have a look at both sizes.

For what it’s worth, when I had to return my first Canyon due to a sizing issue (I was able to check the second at a demo before buying), the rep indicated to me that sometimes people do buy two different sized bikes at the same time, and then just return the one that doesn’t fit.

This probably isn’t the way Canyon would prefer you to do it, but it’s effectively the same as buying the wrong size and returning it while buying the correct size, just on a shorter timeframe.

I just got my wife a XS LUX WC. She’s 5’0” and it’s slightly big for her. Maybe a S is the right choice at your height.

I would look at the reach figures to make your decision. I find that in many cases I’d size down with Canyon.

A M Lux WC is the same as a gen 2 M/L Supercaliber based on reach. Which generation SC do you have?

The first gen sits right between S and M in terms of reach (440mm), and the gen 2 is the same as a M Lux (450mm).

If you’ve got a gen 2 and you’re confident that it fits well, get a M Lux. If you’ve got a gen 1, you can choose to add or subtract 10mm of reach by getting a S or M.

The Lux WC is a very “racy” bike with a steep HTA, and I’d personally prefer a slightly longer stem than a shorter one, and for that reason, if I were between two sizes, I might size down.

If you can ride them, though, that’s a good option too!
