I’m dealing with a calf pain for a while, and there is a knot right on the place that hurts (exactly the place on the image). Apparently it is a gastrocnemius trigger point.
A bit of context: i moved the cleat backwards and tried many things, nothing resolved the pain. I would say this problem appeared when i changed my shoes to DMT KR0, which dont really have a good heel support compared to the shimanos that i used before. Could the heel support cause this kinda problem? Any suggestions?
Btw I did many trigger point calf releases with a PT, and it always come back at the same place when i build up volume.
Have you considered changing back to the shoe you used previously?

In my experience, “releases” and things like trigger point therapy, ART, graston, etc. - they’re all temporary. They don’t address the underlying problem.
For me the answer has almost always and unequivocally come down to some sort of muscle imbalance and that I need some form of rehab regimen and then transitioning into some sort of strength / exercise regimen.
I would try swapping shoes back or swapping to something else, but seeing a PT with a focus on a rehab / exercise program might be a good idea too. Doing a lot of biking in a lot of ways has made me more out of shape for certain things…
