good ol soundpeats… mpow and taotronics… i also have trouble going for something fancier now … (although i do have a pair of aftershockz)
I would just set up a sweet home stereo but I live in a condo so my elderly neighbors would not appreciate me jamming out early mornings or evenings. Earbud drivers can only get so big and can only provide so much sound, what I really want is the sound of over-ear headphones, but those are not sweat resistant so will also become disposable.
I have had the Bose but switched to Powerbeats Pro:
-
Bose Soundsport Free: all your points are valid. The sound in particular is awesome. I started having connection issues with the left earbud to the point where it stopped working completely. You can replace them within a year for free (I was outside that window). They fit great, most earbuds don’t for me. However, they would occasionally fall out during very intense intervals when making pain faces.
-
Powerbeats Pro: I have not had any connectivity issues. On the contrary, if you’re deep in the Apple ecosystem like me, they “just work”. Switching iOS devices is super easy. No need to disconnect and reconnect like with the Bose. Sound is not as good as the Bose, but darn close. Key is to get a good seal which took me a while to figure out (use the ear hooks!). They also stay in place much better.
So it’s ok to have a black thing hanging out of your ear but not a white thing?
At least with the Powerbeats you don’t look like every girl in high school. To me AirPods are more of a fashion statement than a viable headphone, maybe the pro is different from a function perspective cause the old AirPods outright sucked, but I still wouldn’t want that image.
Highly recommend the Bose Wireless Sound Sport (link attached below). I have used these for years now and absolutely love them. They deal with sweat, and wind really well as well as having plenty of battery life to get you through any ride. Used them on 7+ hour rides and still had battery at the end. On top of this the sound quality is fantastic, what you would expect with any Bose product, plus they won’t break the bank which is an added bonus.
Thanks, I do like BOSE products but there are too many widespread reports of connectivity issues with these, either not connecting to each other, or to devices. Not something I want to deal with
I personally haven’t had any problems with mine over the few years I have had it. Once you download the Bose App, it has had perfect connectivity for me.
me too
i have the JBL Reflect flow and they are great . long battery time ( 10 h + 20h in the case) , IPX7 , ambient mode
I bought my wife the AirPods Pro that she wanted for her graduation and after two weeks she asked me to return them because she said “they arent worth the money”. I used them for a few days as well, and I have to agree. The ANC is a legit feature and I do like it but the actual sound quality does not sound like $250.
I have power beats pro. They sound great but i seldom use them during works as i am too nervous that they won’t hold up to sweat. My power beats 3 wired Bluetooth headset didn’t hold up very well to the sweat
I’m an audio engineer so I’m quite picky but the sound quality on these are terrible in my opinion, for the price. Another issue with them is they are extremely bulky compared to others in this range. I disagree that they deal with wind well; I often sacrifice my helmet to wear a hat to cover them on training rides to shield from the wind clash.
What they do offer is durability and because of the hooked designs you don’t have to worry about them falling out, ever. If BOSE improved the sound quality (which is poor throughout their range, even with the QC35iis and 700s) and reduced their enormous size they would be on to a winner. Wind clash is difficult to do anything with for in-ear headphones.
Better ANC option is the Sony WF-1000mx3 which have outstanding sound quality as well as very good noise cancelling but would only recommend for indoor use with a sweat cap above as they are not designed for sports so suffer from the potential to fall out and no sweat/water resistance.
I got the new jaybird vistas and they are absolutely on point. Not one thing id change about them.
I’m supposed to be getting the new Jabra Elite Active 75ts next Tuesday or Wednesday before I head out to Abu Dhabi for a few weeks.
I’m upgrading from a pair of JBL Reflect Mini BTs I’ve had forever. I’ll let ya’ll know what I think of them after I get some in-ear time
Seriously though, Jaybird Vistas are excellent.
I just upgraded to the jaybirds from those jbl reflects I’ve had for 5+ years, I didn’t think anything could beat the reliability, sound quality, and comfort of those!
Mine are still kicking. I got them from a pawn shop for like $30 too (new in box). They were never popular, but they treated me very well for like over 4 years too.
Im replacing bluetooth earphones, need them to work with android and windows 10 laptop for group rides. Any recommendations ? Does bluetooth 5.0 work with windows 10 cause 4.1 doesn’t appear to.
