Bluetooth Earbud (in ear) Recommendations

Hey, I currently use these, they were a replacement for the old JBL’s I had with an annoying clip, but these JBL endurance jumps are friggin awesome. See link https://www.jbl.com/endurance-headphones-series/JBL+Endurance+JUMP.html![images%20(2)|384x384](upload://zoXaKVI6On6YSyRahXwt2hPbIBO.jpeg)
Waterproof, Bluetooth, fits round the neck and easy to plug into and over your ears. Touch control on right side, auto on snap function, just too easy.

I went through Jaybird X2, X3, Freedom and Beats X. None of them lasted no longer than 8 months. I found out that these earbuds worked well during outdoor rides. But during long indoor sessions without the same evaporative cooling of outdoor rides, they broke down farily quickly. I even tried airblowing earbuds after each session to extend their lifespan.

I would recommend Airpods. I got no problems after I made the swtich. The only downside is that Airpods battery run out after about 3.5 hrs before needing recharge. I’m actually looking forward to future generation of Airpods if they can last longer than 5-6 hrs.

I have been using the Jabra Elite Active 65 earbuds on all rides, and they work great. I am a big sweater as well, and have been very impressed.

I’ve found the Jaybirds not to be that comfortable, one ear is different than the other, the Jaybirds are not that forgiving unless they’ve change. So not only did they not seat properly, which lead to poor sound, they felt like they were falling out. Just over all, not overly impressed. Still using the powerbeats2, forgiving fit, stays in place and only killed them once so far, replacement pair still going, somewhere around 2 years.

Yeah, I think the most important thing is whether an earbud is comfortable and stays in your ear.

I had to have them replaced due to sweat issues. I switched Jabra Active Elites and have not been dissappointed.

Apple Air Pods have worked wonders for me. Great outside of training too.

Thanks for the recommendations on the MPOW S10’s - so far so good!

I just got some soundpeats truefree earbuds for $22 on amazon. These are two individual earbuds totally wireless, definitely least expensive option. They sound pretty good, could even be an option for riding with just one outside which might get me out more if I have something to listen to (since I’d never ride with both ears compromised)

Hey Matt - have you managed to use the any digital assistants and/or take calls with the Jabra Active 65s while you ride? And are the controls on the right ear (I ride with only one earphone in…)

Thanks!

Apple air pods are absolutely a pathetic piece of “equipment.” I paid good money for them, only to have them continually fall out of my ear once the sweat starts. Don’t bother running in them. I sweated a bit much, and now the left pod stopped working. Junk. Look elsewhere

Bose QC 30. Noise cancelling as well so I do not have to hear a car beep a microsecond before it hits me. Battery life is even better than advertised

Apple Airpods: the sound is not the best, but connectivity is great, it comes with a built-in microphone and just works. Unlike in-ear head phones, they are more breathable, too, and you can hear your environment. My favorite Apple product of the last few years.

Anyone have good recommendations for headphones that won’t fail due to sweat on the trainer? *I prefer sound isolating.

I’ve gone through 2 pair of the Shure SE215’s. On a per workout basis I’m probably getting them for about $1 a workout but I’d like something to last more than 6 months.

Any recommendations?

Got some cheapie sweatbroof earbuds with the wraparound hooks coming from amazon today to use with the apple TV while training. Will let you know how they work.

Not the cheapest but have been super happy with these.

Outdoors I typically just wear one (right ear) so I can still hear. Usually I listen to podcasts outdoors while riding. Battery life is 4+ hours but they also have a quick recharge feature if you pop them back in your case for 15 min.

Some other cool features are the ability to turn on a “hear through” feature that mics in outside noises. Nice if you want to wear both earbuds but still hear what is going on around you.

I also found they work great when taking calls and now I end up using them for a lot of conference calls.

Finally, Comply released some memory foam ear tips for them and this further improves the seal and sound quality.

+1 for the Jabra Elite 65t.

I absolutely live mine, added bonus of an in-ear HRM via Bluetooth so no need for a chest strap if you want HR with TR.

Totally forgot about this… need to try it!
