Bike storage at Marco Polo Airport?

I use a Ninja case for my bike travels. Planning a couple of weeks of riding around Lake Garda then returning the car at airport and spending a few days in Venice so…Need to store bike at/near airport while enjoying Venice. Thoughts/Suggestions???

I‘d ask the hotels near the airport if you could store your bike for a couple days for a small fee. Airport hotels usually have a luggage storage. I just would make sure to have an AirTag in there for peace of mind.

You’ll be in for a treat, riding around Lake Garda is one of my favorite cycling memories in my life. Climbing up Monte Tremalzo was spectacular, Top 3 rides of my life. You won’t be disappointed.

I don’t know this airport specifically, but most allow you to store luggage for a fee.

Ive used the luggage store at Venice airport recently after the Maratona, they take bike boxes but it is about 20eur for the day if I remember right (normal luggage about half that). It’s not that well signposted, outside the main building, to the far left as you exit the main doors. Enjoy!

Always worth checking, I flew through Pisa last year and the left luggage was a nightmare - barely staffed, not very keen to take a bike box.

Thanks all. My other option is to rent a bike in the Lake Garda. Take bike or rent? Thoughts?

in the Lago di Garda region all larger cities should actually have bike rentals (would look them up on Google and maybe even phone them up before going there to check if they have the type of bike you are looking for.
And given the type of travel you described I certainly would opt for rent over bringing your own. I know for own experience - the heavier and bulkier the luggage the more “motivated” the aircraft loaders.
I am in the lucky position for the Garda area, that it’s just a 4.5 hrs car drive and we regularly go there with our RV (mostly on the Eastern side - Garda, Bardolino, …)

Thank You. We will be staying in Bardolino. I am aware of Bike Garda hotel rents for their guest but will not be staying there. I’ll check out what Mr Google has to say!
